Well, sorry you had to miss it. I just got back from the concert. I don´t know the attendance figure, but last year´s Paul McCartney concert at same venue was 500,000 - this would have to have been as big. I don´t have much info for you, except to say that it was quite an experience. We were a hell of a long way back, but it didn´t matter - the big screens made it good. And you can´t argue with the price!

Was anyone else there?

Off to bed now, bye.

I can´t wait to hear all the news and everybody´s reports. Especially Nicole and Mandy. Just hope that all had a safe time and got as close as they could!!

I´ve just read an article that there was 600,000 people there.

I´ll add the article to the news section.

There are pictures from the Rome concert at yahoo.com... Type in "Simon & Garfunkel, Rome concert" and click the News button above the search bar. There are some good pictures.

Some "undirect" news from Rome, thanks to Guido who was there yesterday : it was very good, more than he could expect in fact. Very professional, no real suprise :-) 600 000 people.

The concert was stunning. I will not bore you with obvious histerically charged comments. I will just say that the emotion was sky high, the setting was breathtaking(collisseum, full moon,600,000 people etc...) and last but not least I heard the best vocal performance from paul I have ever experienced in a live show!It was better than the Olympia DVD,better than his Rome 2003 gig, better even than the CP concerts....it was like the records from the sixties. I´m still not over the way he sang the second verse of both bridge and American Tune.

What do you think, will they make the live album / dvd from this concert?

That would be a nice closer of this farewell tour.

They should make a DVD of this tour because they sing much better together as on the tour last fall.

This is wat is written on simonandgarfunkel.com:
´Q: Will there be a live album and DVD for the Simon & Garfunkel Old Friends tour?
A: That´s a very strong possibility.´
So, there will be cd´s/dvd.

I just noticed something quite interesting. Yesterday night during feelin´ groovy Rob Schwimmer and Mark Stewart did something they don´t seem to have done on the other shows. When Schwimmer took the solo and Mark blew that bass-tube, all of a sudden they sort of slowed down and played a very famous song from a Fellini movie:Otto e mezzo(Eight and a half). Has this ever happened before?

I don´t know the name of the tunes but in the Dublin concert at the end of feellin´ groovy Rob and Mark played what sounded like part of the Jaws theme music and also another piece that I recognised (as did others) but could not place, an opera maybe!!
