All i know is that you don´t need tickets. You can just go.
I´ll guess you have to be early, but don´t know what time.
On the site http://www.romaturismo.com there is only this information:

Address:
Via dei Fori Imperiali, In front of Colosseo
Free admittance
Ticket is not necessary
Concert starts in the evening

I´m trying to make it to this concert all the way from Seattle, Washington! My flight would get in early the morning of the concert and I´m worried that I will not get a good spot in front of the stage. Does anyone have a good reason to believe that there will be tons of people waiting way in advance for a good spot? I´m a small 17 year Old girl so maybe I can squeeze in and around everybody!

ariggs, I´m sorry, but the odds are people will be lining up very, very early. I don´t know that it would be worth it to spend all the money to go to Rome to a concert. Simon and Garfunkel concerts are wonderful events, but I have witnessed extremely long waits for even less famous people. You also have to think about whether it would be worth it to stand outside in the hot sun all day and maybe not even get a chance to use a bathroom or sit down. If you do go to Rome for the concert and you end up being disappointed, take the chance to explore the eternal city anyway and make it a learning experience. :-)

Thanks so much for your answer!
I´ve come to understand that my sitting situation might not be too great, but there are a few factors involved that allow me to take my chances to see the concert! For one, my family has been Blessed to explore the wonderful benefits of having my mother be a flight attendant for Delta airlines for 30 years. We fly free! Money´s no issue. My biggest worry is not being able to see Paul up close; I´ve been to two concerts just able to make out his figure from far away, and now it´s my last chance to see him right in front of me! I´VE GOT TO DO IT! I would kick myself later if I knew I gave up this chance. Do you think people will be waiting for the concert DAYS early?

Hi,

I have had an email from the Roma Tourist agency and they said that in similar events people started coming very early in the morning, so I do not think people will be waiting DAYS in advantage.

I understand Allyson. How lucky you are to get to fly free. I hope you get a great seat and enjoy the concert.

Anyway, people can´t arrive too much time before the concert : the police doesn´t allow people to sleep in the street.

Is there any webcam around the coliseum ? I guess there isn´t one that shows the stage, but I want to see at least the crowd there...
