Voices of Old People - Panda, I agree. It´s the only "song" I deleted from my iTunes playlist.

I vacillate on a lot of S & G songs but the Paul Simon solo songs...well, it takes me a LONG time to warm up to almost all of them, so I can say "I don´t like Think Too Much" one day and then the next day it clicks and it´s one of my favorite songs (which hasn´t happened yet).

But I guess I don´t really "get" "Boy in the Bubble." What I think he´s doing all throughout the song is being sarcastic and stating that these medical and technological finds aren´t good which kind of upsets me because he uses real people as examples.

Quiet I feel is one of the most poetic of Pauls songs. I think it would be a beautiful song to have as a farewell hymn when someone has finished their lifes´ journey. Listen to the lyrics!!

I only like The Teacher on the Paris DVD (or let´s say "live")

Most of the songs only become very good after played live 50 times or more - then the shape of the song appears clearer. The musicians make some small changes and it becomes better and better.

thank you, I jsut wanted to post it.
to Bodo: I did not write you said "bad song.." it just was the feeling I got from your post. And obviously you are defending your point.
Which is right after all.
I just wanted to tell you, I don´t think this song was recorded due to Artie. I don´t want to judge whether it is typical-AG; I´m not a professional recessionist.
But Paul like this song as much as Artie when it was recorded or sung in concert. We´re not talking of what Paul is thinking about benedictus today...maybe we should ask him.

it is typical AG because PS fans do appear not to like it ;)

PS: I´m totally on your site.

voices of Old people - is it a song? It is a project. As "The Break-up".

I´m afraid that A Poem On The Underground Wall now seems to be straining for a significance it doesn´t really merit. Added to that, on the live albums and bootlegs Artie´s introductions go on for ever, so they are both culpable.
