 | Well, as a fan you can say that about every song - but you´re not acting very critical and objectiv.
I´m sure the critical Paul himself would say that around 10 -20% of his songs are really worse. |

| We just try to find out what songs we don´t like very much - and it seems as everyone has his 2 or more songs he can´t stand - and they are all nearly the same... Benedictus, Cars Are Cars... Silent Night... compared to every other song and to other artists songs they are really ...worse (most people fell) :-) |

 | I´m sorry interrupting here...it is opinion here, I see. But Benedictus is definitely a work of Art AND Paul. On the 60´s concerts it is mostly Paul introducing and insisting on this song. It is unfair, saying "bad song, Artie must have made it".
My opinion, btw: I don´t like that song so much either. It is just "interesting" imho |

Any problems with the truth? Nearly no one likes that song, and it is a typical AG song.
Anyway, I more dislike songs like Cars Are Cars, Papa Hobo, Hobos Blues... Paranoia Blues, Can I forgive him, Quiet, - all PS songs, and all are not really memorabilities for the future... |

Personally, I´ve no problem with Benedictus, but I can imagine that the problem comes from the lack of...text ? or the melody ?
PS has always written the melodies of his songs. So, it can be a melody problem...
The text, so ? It´s still PS who wrote all his songs, or, at least, he REwrote (like for Scarborough or Richard Cory).
Or, is it a "typical AG song" because it´s overall a SUNG song ? (not as "intelligent" as SoS maybe). I´d see here a frustration of a Simon´s fan, ´cause Simon doesn´t know how to sing, he never has had voice...
I´m sorry but I often hear on this website (french forum?:p) that a lot of mistakes of PS in S&G period was Garfunkel fault...I know this website is a PS website...but...well |

About Paul´s voice, it´s a matter of taste, what kind of voice you like, it´s certainly not a frustration of a Simon´s fan.
I like Paul´s voice more, he puts more emotion en feeling in his voice. Art´s voice sounds to sweet, just not my taste.
Paul´s voice is much stronger, certainly these days. |
