  | Ah...my own page killed me. Had just written a review and then was logged out and the browser deleted all my text :-(
Don*t have the time now to do it all again.
Sound was excellent.
Band is making fun all the time, playing drums on Bakithis head a.s.o.
Paul made a long introduction to Spirit voices, told the whoThe cool cool River, said Paul killed a green mamba and something with gorillas (I did not understand, maybe sleeping with the gorillas..paul just shaked his head)
The song that best works from the new album for me is Stranger to Stranger. But remindes me a lot of the Teacher.

  | I had the chance to talk to Mark, he came down to our place just before the show. Such a kind person, asked questions about our hometown.
And I could talk to Bakithi outside after the show. I am so happy and proud - as he asked me to have a picture with him (on his phone).
He and Jamey flew directly to Atlanta do record some stuff there (today, I guess more info is on James FB), tomorrow they will join the band again in Toronto. What a busy life.

  | The audience is getting older and older at the front, would say most are in their 70s. Hard for them to stand up and dance. It took them till Call me Al until everybody was standing.
Definately it would be more fun if he plays in front of the lawn (where the poor boys have to bring their own folding chair) and the premium seats are in the back... :-)
Oh, Bakithi is playing a new bass-solo(bridge) on Diamonds(! not Al). When I asked him he said he did it for the first time tonight. Watch out, it sounds like his bass is "talking, mumbling, wobbling (I do not find words for that, like the tanan nanan is played by bass maybe), amazing. But he still was not happy with the result, he said he will try to do it better at the next show in Toronto (I thought it was already excellent). |

 | Thanks Bodo. At last, some action and reporting here !
Yeah...I don't know why Simon's team embarked in this Premium Seat crap. I prefer the 2011 approach with the clubs.
'Revenues, pay-per-view, Premium Seats..
Should be pretty healthy...'

  | Do me a favor; Kill the ball - said Paul
I liked that.
It seems people prefer to play around with a ball to have action, than just to dance a little bit.

 | How do you get the musicians to visit you, Bodo ?
You text them and say: 'I am Bodo from Neck of my Guitar; care for a little visit ?!' |

  | No it was just a coincident that Mark walked down. And he seemed to remember me from previous tours (as he said I remember your hat)
This amphitheater was very "open" some from the band were there before the show, wandering up and down the stage. Also Jamey walked trough our row, and the new trumpet player looked for a friend. No one from the audience knows who they are before the show (beside me). I realized that all people I talked to sitting around me have never been to a PS show before and just went there because they knew the name and said "I wanted to see him all my life"...
This is strange, isn't it? As I was in the first few rows, but the people there are not "fans" as you would imagine. They just hop on the bus and say: Oh, Paul Simon..okay...nice Sunday. They do not know the lyrics of any songs (maybe 1 out of 50 knows...) |

  | Oh and Bakithi was waiting outside, at the parking lot (where all cars left, so he waited there for about 30 minutes till the traffic is better and they can drive out), but just because he left with Jamey to Atlanta. The rest of the band did not come out. So it was just luck he was there and talked to some concert visitors. (Jamey did not talk, just smoking ;-) )

 | Bakithi seems to really like meeting fans - remember we were talking to him in Vicar St, Bodo? I think he would've stayed all night talking! Show sounds great - looking forward to the Autumn for the European tours! |

  | Hi Scaaty
I think I wasn't at Vicar St. Or was that 2011? I haven't talked to him there, but saw them for a short time outside smoking before the show.
BTW: If you are a musician and can afford travelling and have the time: Bakithis wife is trying to form a Trio to make a tour (I think trough Europe) this summer. Sounds like a lot of fun. But you need to pay for yourself I understand. |
