 | Wartime Prayers - the first new Paul Simon solo song!
It wasn´t Soft parachutes he played at the VH1 show (guess some stupid reporter got that wrong!) It was a absolute new song - and again it shows how the war influenced Paul Simons songwriting at this time - the song is called Wartime Prayers.
Unfortunately the haven´t shown it on TV (idiots)!
They only aired the well know hit´s on VH1. Man I could kill all these idiots which decide to air 20 year Old Hit´s like Boy in the Bubble or Late In The Evening again and again, but don´t show a NEW SONG!!!!! What kind of idiots are making our TV Programms today?!?!? They tell us that the audience doesn´t want to see a NEW song they don´t know, they want to see the well known hit´s.
(can anyone agree with that, ANYONE?????)
Read in the news everything else about this performance - Paul came 3 1/2 hours too late because his plane couldn´t start :-)

| I hope we wont have to wait too long... he always say´s he is only half way trough the album...and now he is touring again for 2 months.
I´m really angry that they didn´t show THIS song on TV. IT´s always the same, they sell us the same things again and again, even if there is something new - never change a winning team, they show us the Old songs. |

| Bodo, you sound like the original "Angry Young Man" !I am sure you will see the entire new Simon song.....in 15 years when it is one of the Old classics!I Love seeing Late In The Evening and boy in the bubble.In fact I would like to see more vintage S&G performances from the 60s.Seriously, though, the new song will no doubt be shown a lot in the forthcoming weeks. |

 | Yeah...I have a feeling this album is going to be very political. I can sense it in the dialogue I have been hearing. I have a feeling this could be explosive either way for Paul. Might go platinum of might be rejected. |

It´s not released anywhere, so who should play it?
This was a unique chance, now we have to wait very long - and I now know why they didn´t play the song - elections in the USA, political correctnes, no anti-war songs (they are afraid of anti war things, and they are afraid of their goverment) |

| Ok you are right Sumit. that are 2 songs.
But I don´t think that these songs will be promotet or anything else. We didn´t even hear the full S&G song, and not a chord from Pauls solo song.
I don´t like to repeat it again and agian, but they really have a bad management IMO. If the Beatles or Elvis reveal a new- Old song then this becomes a number 1 hit (even if it´s not very good), it´s everywhere on TV and radio and they will produce 2 or 3 video clips to find the best one :-)
S&G just say they have a new song on a radio interview and then play a few seconds...after that you never hear it again, they don´t play it live...nothing
Ok, maybe Paul really don´t want to continue S&G and doesn´t want to make a new album (and I think the pressure onto him will be high if Citizen of the planet will be a hit) - but why do they give us this song then? Why do they record 1 old song together again - and Paul says on the other hand he will not record again as S&G.
ok, maybe thats a reason not to promote Citizen of the planet.
But why not promoting his solo song? Isn´t it allowed because he is on tour with Art now? It seems as we have to wait for the new album now a few months more ( I guess spring 2005...or summer ?)
so why not releasing a single to please the fan´s?
Oh, to answer your question - I personaly think the chance to get video clips is zero. |
