 | I'm afraid you're right. Very sad. I never noticed or heard about problems with Paul |

 | Why always so negative???
It was Tony's own decision to move back to SA. He is very happy there, plays a lot of music and made his own solo album, Love Letter To Cape Town. Great album BTW!

 | I hope it's Tony'decision. But i don't believe it.Making his own album and going back to South Africa doesn't keep him from touring with Paul one month a year. |

 | Well, believe what you want. Paul deserves more credit from his fans than to assume he would kick Tony out. |

 | If I recall correctly, he was not part of the Sting/Simon tour.
So, it is not like if we discover it all of a sudden. |

  | Ans is correct. Why say Tony has been kicked out of the band without any evidence to support the remark? Tony decided to move back home to SA and continue his career there. Obviously it means a lot to him and his own career is now his priority. His FB page will give you an idea of how busy he is. Paul /Sting Tours over US, Australia and Europe plus rehearsing would certainly have
have taken up more than a month and probably interfere with his own schedule. |

  | From memory the last concert Tony played in Paul's band was April 2013 in Auckland New Zealand. Like 3 years ago ! |

  | I hope we are not fighting here because of that. :)
I am also sad Tony is not longer with the touring band, but there have come and gone a lot of musicians, and we never questioned it (like: Did Paul Simon kick Steve Gadd out of the band... )
I can not add more actual info, Tony is making a lot of music today and seems to be happy and he does not write negative about Paul. He is even more a Jazz musician than what Pauls bands tries to be, that means he is playing at free jazz sessions (Zurich, also Saalfelden Austria). And he might have been the most "relaxed" guy in the band (together with Gadd)... in reference to that line from late in the evening. I remember that the very friendly and serious Mr. Hynes found him a "little bit crazy" (in a charming way he whispered that)

 | I have been listening to Cedras's album per suggestion by Ans for the last two days.
Very good !!!!!
I would take a tour with PS to pay my mortgage, but seriously, instead of playing BITB for the 5234 times in my life, I would prefer focusing on my stuff.
Kudos Tony. |

  | Well first of all, because Tony is in SA with his projects, is no sign of evidence that he left the band by himself...nobody in the band can make a living of being part of Pauls band (except Paul)...so all of them have own projects...and some of them work for other artist too
(thats - i think - why Steve Gadd is not a band member anymore) ...
So i sent a message to Tony Cedras, and told him i feel sad he is not in the band etc..
He answered: thanks...you should write a mail to Pauls office and start a petition...haha
but maybe i think to much ;-) |

 | Paul has worked with so many musicians. Some have died (Richard Tee, Michael Brecker, Eric Gale, Jessy Dixon plus one woman out of his group, Ira Tucker etc.), some have fled from themselves, or struggled from here to get there.
I guess it is his intention to change his sound, as he always did.
And in some cases like Steve Gadd he might be too expensive for smaller venues.
