I didn´t have any time to listen to the interview the last day´s. But I´m also ´surprised´(ok not really) that no one is saying how wonderful this song is, and they should record a new album and and and.
Maybe I have to read the http://www.artgarfunkel.com forum ;-)

Or isn´t it a new number one single? Not more millions of $ for Paul and Art without a little work? LOL, it remindes me of these MC Donalds advertisement´s where someone say´s "This is what I have to do to earn one Big Mac" and then he makes exactly 1 move.

So tell me, HOW is this NEW S&G song? Beside the fact that it is 22 years Old and should have been included on the new remastered release of Hearts And Bones because it´s a Simon solo song.
Is it a number 1 hit? I heard on our local radio yesterday that S&G will tour in Europe, but no word about the newest song.

As everybody else, I just heard a few seconds of it...

I guess many people on this forum knows the song from bootlegs, but I did not know it.

At first sight, the sound of it made me think about the song "Ten Years".

No...not another Mrs. Robinson for sure. I don´t know what plan they have in mind for this song...it will probably be included in the upcoming CD of the tour as a bonus. That´s my guess.

I guess it will be released as a track on their next solo albums...
They did that with "My Little Town" too.

Ohhh! Woooow!! lol...There you go!! ;)

I can honestly say I am very, very excited for "Citizen of the Planet"..Sure I can tell its no "Mrs. Robinson" (as someone put it) but I did enjoy the *tiny* part we were allowed to hear..I´m very much looking forward to hearing the rest!!

Ok, my guess.

It wont be on the live CD

They will release a extra S&G the ultimate definitive collection , and include this song. You have to buy all other S&G albums and live albums to get this song then... ok, just a guess ;-)

?? That´s 0 stars out of 10 (better than nothing)

But as long Paul say´s they will _not_ record any new material I think the chances are good that S&G fans will get a new S&G album this fall.

I like Citizen of the Planet very much. It has a good and memorable melody and text and the instrumentation / arrangement / singing seems to be of high quality. (OK I only know a short Simon solo bootleg and the beginning of the new version)
It really fits to the tradition of Simon & Garfunkel. (He Was My Brother, Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream, Sparrow, Silent Night 7 O´Clock News, ...).
It could get into the TOP 20 charts worldwide.
I only expected them to sing it on the new tour which they apparently don´t.
In my opinion this will be the only "new" S & G song.

I am going to buy anything that they will realease: live-CD, live-DVD, single

I´m just a little worried that Paul is only half ready with his new solo CD :-(

i think it´s a rather boring song, no Surprise anywhere, the lyrics sound outdated etc, a disappointment but then: a new S&G is not really important to me (I will see them in Köln), I´m much more awaiting Paul´s new album (and new tour??)

Agree, that´s an unfinished and not very unique song. It sounds extreme simple IMO, especially the sound. A little bit like James Taylor (ok not a little bit, it sounds 95% like James Taylor - and I find him very boring)
Especially the guitar tab is so simple that it hurts (are these guys on a 60´s only trip?)

I really hope they don´t continue that way, it´s miles (lightmiles)away from S&G´s sound...to continue that could destroy a legend of 2 60´s stars.
