 | Is the leading organization for Songwriters worldwide.
In 1973 Paul Simon became the leading BMI-Songwriter with 5 songs having airplay in the US more than 1 Million times.
By 2005 the list was:
Mrs. Robinson more than 7 Million times
Bridge 6
Scarborough Fair 6
Feelin`Groovy 4
Homeward Bound 4
I am a rock 3
Kodachrome 3
Cecilia 3
The Boxer 3
Loves me like a rock 3
El Condor Pasa 2
50 ways 2
Mother and Child Reunion 2
Slip slidin`away 2
You can call 2
Hazy shade of winter 1
Late in the evening 1
Me and Julio 1
My little town 1
Still crazy 1
Red Rubber Ball 2 (Sung by The Cyrkle)
Sound of Silence certainly is played several Million times, but not on the list (maybe because it was his first hit and he wasn`t with BMI at the time).
Web-site is quite interesting.

  | Interesting.
Where did you find the numbers for 2005, on the bmi.com website?
I am suprprised about Scarborough Fair. The Boxer should rank higher I guess...
What is the most played song by any artist? |

I found this list for the last century, Paul is doing well.
"Never my love" ? Does not ring in my head...
Good to see they have the right order of names at Scarborough Fair ;-)
Surprising how low the Rolling Stones rank (below 90 their only entry on that list)
BTW, they have SOS on Nr 18 on that list...
