 | According to an article I just saw on an Entertainment site, U2 is putting on a show at Madison Square Garden in NY using, among others, Paul's music, as well as Johnny Cash and the Sex Pistols. Sounds rather odd!

  | Should be a great show Richard. A little snippet from earlier this year.

  | I would simply guess that 99% of all people in the audience there do not know what song that is. Somehow I also can't see how this intro fits to Where the streets have no name... |

 | I would not be so sure, Bodo...U2's public is quite aging as well...
Maybe at an Arcade Fire show, almost nobody would know the song.

 | By the way, it has been great for PS since the early 2010.
It has never been really cool in the 2000's to be a PS fan...
But lately, some indie groups have paid tribute to him. Vampire Weekend has made the 'Graceland' connection. Grizzly Bear's Chris Bear contributed to 'Love is eternal sacred light', etc.
Peter Gabriel covered Boy in the Bubble' in 2010.
Sting payed him respect in the last tour...
And now U2.
The man has seen worst... |

 | My claim to fame - if my parents hadn't decided to move to other side of the city when I was 12, I would have gone to the same secondary school as Bono and probably have been in the same year! However still doesn't make me a fan:) |

 | Don't forget the "almost" cover of Cecilia by The Vamps: ah ah ah, a PS song covered by a boys band!!! :-))

And the very ceciliaesque (what a success for this song)rhythm of the song Some Nights by the group Fun...

And the cover of Papa Hobo by Ezra Koenig, singer of Vampire Weekend:

 | According to the Washington Post, Bono saw Paul in the audience at their show last night in Madison Square Garden and called him up on stage to sing part of Mother and Child Reunion. The Post said that the crowd "roared" when he got on stage. (If I was 1/3 as tech-savvy as you folks I would link to the article. Sorry.)
Anyway, I guess people still know who Paul is, which is good! |

 | U2 have been using the song of Paul since the start of their tour. Thanks for the video Ans!
Here another beautifull cover of Amreica from First Aid Kit. I believe they still play this one... |

 | Here is a better quality video where Paul shares the stage. Bono starts talking about Paul at 2:50.
