 | Hi folks,
I understand that europeans fans are close to nirvana with the S&S Tour, but I went to Cleveland last weekend to see the special exhibit.
It was nice. Love Cleveland. It was my 2nd time in the city. It is also a Simon-friendly city, since part of One-Trick Pony was filmed over there, as you know. Actually went to see The Agora Club. Simon is among the artists which pictures are shown in the facade, along with other legends or less-known faces.
Simon exhibit is on the same floor as the permanent one in the Hall of Fame. Would you guys learn a lot ? Not necessarily I must say. The typical stuff : music first, lyrics after; why S&G splitted; his love for doo-wop, etc.
There are a few artefacts that are worth: his first guitar, the Yamaha Guitar of the BART period (with the doll), his Tom and Jerry red coat.
Since very few here would be as crazy as I am to actually go there, I do recommend however the special book prepared by the R&R Hall of Fame for the exhibit. You have all the information, special pics, excerpt of interviews, etc. Really well-made. The type of things that you get usually with special boxsets that they make you pay 120$ even if you have bought already 3 boxsets of the same s*it.
It is available for buying online on the R&R HofF web site.
So save money and time ! And as for the Agora, well, there is Google Street, so why traveling ? (please keep in mind though that the current Agora location is not the one of the '70's, used in OTP).
As for the really hard-die fans, there is an opportunity to go to the Archives of the Hall of Fame. Apparently, you can, on request, see fragments and the developement of The Boxer. But I did not have the time to go myself.

 | Well, Cleveland is also the home city for Jamey Haddad. I would have liked to visit his home studio and instruments, but did not get an answer. I guess it could be explained by the fact that the man is actually physically in UK. |
