 | Paul Simon is known for not saying much at his concerts. At the concert in Odense, Denmark at 17 March someone shouted "Say a few words" (as someone often does, referring of course to the incident at "Live Rhyming'", where the response is something like "Let's hope that we continue to live..."), to which Paul responded "well, I am a man of "few words"". Quite funny.
And now I just heard a recording of the Amsterdam concert from 22 March (very descent sound by the way, it's at Dime), and introducing one of my favourites Cool, Cool River (see other tread :-) ) he says
"If you feel like dancing this tune is in 9/8"
The music nerd inside of me found that really funny :-)

 | In a Talkshow in recent years he explained, that 9/8 is an aggressive rhythm used in Africa when people went on to fight.
He also told that for a period of time he was working in a shoe-shop to bring the shoes wanted by the customers. His Nick-name was "lightning".
Guess here it means the opposite, "slow". |

 | Yes, that was funny when Paul said that, of course no one dared to dance ;-) |
