Just a thought.....
With the rock and rock hall of fame, the Biography coming up.

He Probably isnt, just crossed my mind. I would just love to see a Paul Simon Solo tour before he does though :)

No, I don't think he is retiring soon.

Depending on his health, I would expect one or two more studios albums, about 16 compilations, 4 boxsets (joke), etc.

But of course, we are more in the winter of his career, and it is a good idea to put this book together.

As long as the health and voice are there, I expect him to be going. And I think he has enough wisdom not to do the mistake of B.B. King and end up cancelling shows because of heractic behavior on stage.

I agree that it seems unlikely that Paul will retire soon. I liked to see that he didn't want to write an autobiography because he wants to keep his focus on music. That's a good thing for us fans. And I also agree that he won't tour if he feels he can't perform well. However, it seems to me that even then he might continue to record. Leonard Cohen is still going strong at, what, 80? McCartney is the same age as Paul and he shows no sign of letting up. With artists in other areas their later works (while often quite different) can be excellent. Thank goodness Paul is not in Vegas, doing a 'greatest hits' show night after night!
