 | WHAT a concert! First off, supposed to be one hour, he played for one and half hours and he was JAZZED! I think the sole acoustic song was American Tune-just Paul & guitar and Mark's cello(?). He was cracking jokes (sorry missed all the punch lines but the fans roared! He told everyone to do whatever they wanted and he gyrated all over the stage and his hands moved and moved when he was not playing guitar-a very wild evening.
Turns out Adrianne (sp?) is a sophomore at NYU and Paul's Dad went there at night-think Paul said it took his father 5 years to finish his degree? But , he was chatty tonight-
Please hunt for a review-I will look for one tomorrow. It was Beacon theater the Sternhardt Vision Awards Gala.-that's right , he got an award in the shape of a prism, clear, and he was looking through it and cracking jokes. Oh, he also played a song by "one of his favorite writers?, Chet? Axin?
I wish I was more versed with Paul's later songs and heard better-but what wonderful sound from the band-He did the Boxer but it was arranged a bit differently and ditto for the 50 ways to leave your lover- |

  | How could Adian be a soph.? Last I heard he was going to a different college and he started so early seems like he could be a senior. yes Paul never cares what the audience is doing, and I sure don't like that when they come from the back and get in the way. |

 | Top 1 Annoying Concert Behavior for Any Simon Fan:
Hearing applauds at the end of the last word of The Obvious Child rather than at the end of the song.

  | Anthony and Bodo should better be never at the same concert together. Sorry Anthony, I can never understand people who just sit there, do not move one finger for 2 hours. Are you claustrophobic? Paul Simon is not a philharmonic concert - did you ever realize Paul makes about 70% real dance music? Well anyway, as I said, I will never ever go again to a seated concert of Paul Simon solo, so nothing to worry about (maybe when he completely changes and deletes all his famous songs and is doing a accoustic guitar only tour... but that wont happen anyway). London 2006 learned me a lesson, when Paul wanted us to dance, but the security sat us down. Paul wants you to stand up and have fun. A musician needs that feedback. If you have a 12 man band up there and they all give their best, Bakithi is dancing, Mark is jumping and Paul makes some of his dance-like moves, what a feeling this must be for them too look into a bored seated audience.

 | the first several songs had to do with early love-I remember wondering if this had anything to do with the marital spat earlier (If Paul was trying to say something!). One song had the word apple in it! |
