Well - another Interview by Mr. Garfunkel talking about his relationship with Paul and again it is one-sided. Sorry, I do not like how, when and why and whom he is telling all those things. He should keep his self-ego fight against Paul private. Take a therapy or - use his cellphone and talk to Paul "Paul I have A news, my voice is back"

By reading that interview you could get the impression that it is Pauls fault that S&G are not touring now...yes, Paul is so unfriendly and does not call every day: "Art, is your voice fine, I need to tour, I have no idea what else to do"
But hey, who has lost his voice by eating too much lobster until it came out of his nose or doing private money-cash-in shows for strange snobs people in Nicaragua -> and wasn't one of the reasons he completely lost his voice that he did not quit smoking, even after the diagnose(!) He seems to forget a lot of things (he even says that during the interview).

Question: And you had a tour booked that summer with Simon and Garfunkel.
Garfunkle: Did I? You would know better than I would.

?? Is that his kind of humour? He should better know that many people had bought tickets, booked hotels and flights and say "I am sorry what an idiot I am, cause I knew that my voice wasn't ok since January but I agreed to go on tour in summer... shame on me, cause it was my fault that my best friend Paul was in that situation in New Orleans that the audience began to realize S&G sound horrible."

He needs a better memory:
Garfunkel: I never saw anyone cheating and filming on their phone.
What a lie, simply because if someone would do that Art Garfunkel would jump of the stage directly into that persons face and eat him

Remember that story:

I can't resist, I also call him ignorant.

Yeah my reaction was very harsh, but I stand behind my words at this point. (sorry Ans and everyone else) I also like controvers discussions ;-)

What I want to add: I maybe realize now what is the problem between Paul and Art. Art Garfunkel is simply very unprofessional, just remember everything he's done in the last years.

- booked a tour although his voice is away since months
- singin at a S&G concert, knowing he has no voice (thats making massive problems and a really unpleasent situation for his partner)
- did not appear at scheduled concerts without saying a word to the audience or manager (Sweden)
- unprofessional comments against disabled person at his
show(!)
- the same unprofessional comments against someone who was playing around with his cellphone at his concert. Showing what kind of character he is when he said he will not continue the show and leave the stage (thats what really bad teachers are doing when they blame the whole class for 1 persons fault)

What I mean: I am 1000% sure Paul would never act that way. He is so gentle and professional and has such a welcoming humour that he could simply dissolve all those situations with a joke (on stage) or would not appear on stage without his best voice. Now can you imagine those two characters working together on a tour? That must be really hard.

These interviews shoul be managed better to prevent Artie shooting g from the hip - I suggest he hires Luis Walsh - the boy band manager he referred to (what was that about?) he would never let his clients partake in such an interview!

LOL Bodo, I agree with you on this discussion! The facts you mention here are all right. I mostly try to stay out of discussions about Art, we had too many fights on several forums with Art fans. Art is a kind of person who only sees the shortcomings from other people, never from himself. Well, I just got involved again in a discussion on AMPS (which I shouldn't have done) about the same subject.

Scaaty,The Boy Band Manager, the other Luis Pearlman, that Art referred to is his cousin who unfortunately was convicted of conspiracy and money laundering in 2006. Art did reply yo a question in a radio interview a few days ago that he had not seen him for a very long time!

Ans, I thought about joining in the discussion on Facebook but I came to the conclusion, that it will do nothing. Some people have their opinions and will never change their mind. We all know that nobody is without faults and after so many years in this business everybody has made some mistakes but it is really unfair from Art, the way he is talking about Paul in these interviews. Postponing and then cancelling a tour with so many people involved and so many fans booking flights and hotels must be a horror for an artist. But when Art is doing interviews he always comes across as the one who was treated badly - by his manager, by his doctors, by the industrie and of cours always by Paul Simon. It is really getting boring now.

I did not see that discussion on AMPS..?

Mimi you are so right...

I simply don't get it - when Paul has been asked if he wanna tour again as S&G to continue the Canada tour his answer is straight and forwarded: Yes of course, I wanna do that, we will do it as soon as Arts voice has recovered.
Asking AG the same question ends in: Paul is such a bad boy, I would love to do it but he did not ask me...I am so wonderful and he is so ignorant. I will not ask him, my ego is much bigger..blah.

Come on!

The discussion is about the same article from Rolling Stone. Roy posted it. It became pretty nasty because of the personal attacks from Michel. I found it very annoying because he didn't have the facts right, saying Paul was only inducted in the R&R Hall of Fame as S&G which is not true and lots of other annoying stuff. Then I pretty quickly dropped out of the discussion. You are right Mimi, it's not worth the trouble trying to convince fans like him.

I am not that severe toward Art.

Although I really realize how much a retrogradation force he is. It looks like everytime a reporter asks him about a S&G reunion, he is always in favor, often pushing for it. If one would listen to him, S&G would be touring non-stop; the world is always craving for S&G if we trust him.

The tour with Sting is probably what gets Simon growing: mutual understanding with other musicians, experimenting a bit, raising the bar.

A tour with S&G is about past, fossilised songs, no new repertoire since 1970, 75.

Garfunkel is a force of the past really.

Art was in Sweden to perform concerts, but he just took off and did not care about the audience so you had to put in a replacement. He held up a ladder and diseaper out from a window that is true. You can read about it in the news or search on google on art in sweden.
