:) Hi everybody!
I´m going to Rome next July to see the Old Friends tour..
I´ll be all alone and i´ll sleep with my sleeping bag in via dei fori imperiali (in front of colosseum).
Is someone here going to rome on 31th of July? We may meet :)

also can we post in a forum a map of the area so we can meet, or leave messages to organize times to meet?

ps if all goes well, i hope to make it to TWO concerts this summer!!! paris and rome!!!!!! this is because i have an international internship in dunkerque, france and i´ll be doing two weeks of traveling afterward, that will put me exactly in rome at the end of july

no, thats all not possible because then everyone could edit every entry.

BTW. Where do you camp in Rome? Is there a camping site in the city? (I don´t think so) and I guess the police wont allow camping in the city parks...

I am from Rome so maybe I can be useful. Campings in Rome are only on the outskirts and probably the police won´t enjoy people camping in the historical center! What I suggest is that you guys find a camping site on the outskirts (or a bed and breakfast anywhere in town) and then head on tho the concert site in the morning. I don´t want you guys to miss the front rows BUT at the McCartney concert last year(same situation) the people who got the really front rows were there from about 10 a.m. so that gives you all the time to wake up at 8 and head on. In addition I have the feeling that S&G have quite a smaller audience here in Italy so you might end up right up front even if you get to the Colisseum at, say, 12. Post here if you want more info. CIAO!

I remember 2 years ago in Paul Simon´s free concert in Rome, we arrived around 3PM and we took the first row without problem. And the place was crowded when the concert started. Maybe this time it will be a little bit more difficult as it is the reunion of both singer in Europe.
It is a pity I won´t be able to attend any of these concerts in Europe. I will need to stay with the images and the sounds of last december concert at Fort Lauderdale, Miami.
Enjoy the tour, those of you that will be there!

Well.. I´m from Bergamo, but i was born in Tivoli (Rome) and i have a lot of friends there. On 30th July, i´m sleeping in front of colosseum with my sleeping bag.. i don´t know if there is a camp, maybe i´ll sleep on a bench. If someone wants contact me, my e-mail is [email protected]. I´ll be nice to meet some S&G fans.. as brave as me :))
I´m sure I´ll have a good experience. I know it will be so.
See you soon.

I´m just checking...you don´t need tickets to the Rome concert, right? Do you just show up at the colosseum? Is there a chance to meet the duo?
I am also planning to go to the concert from the states. I´ve been waiting for this my entire life!

Hey guys,
Does anyone know how the Colosseum gig on July the 31st is gonna work?Do you need to apply for free tickets or is it a turn up twelve days beforehand to see them as specks in the distance kind of thing?!Whats the venue like, and is it worth going if I arrive the night before?

No free tickets : you arrive as early as you can. It will be in a street in front of the Colosseum and there will be screens in the other streets to let the people who won´t be lucky enough to be close to the stage to see the show

Hello Bluesmoke!
You are from Rome, so I hope You will help us.. we are going to Rome to Simon&Garfunkel concert. We are from Poland, and we are going to Rome by car... it will take 20 hours one way.. but we are happy to listen to this music live.. But we know nothing about this concert.. it is free concert.. but are there any free entrance tickets or everybody can get there? Could you recommend us any cheap hostels or campings in Rome? We should be grateful if You could help us, because for us it is big adventure for us! We would like to have a great time in Rome!

Best Regards
Andrew ([email protected])
