  | Whilst at the concert in Hyde Park, my sister and I witnessed the phenomenon of the ´You Can Call Me Al Fan Club´.
This is people who don´t know Paul Simon´s music that well but are crazy about ´You Can Call Me Al´. Most are too young to have been born when Graceland was released but have heard the song at parties and 80s nights. They are word perfect about the song and many were seen leaving Hyde Park still singing their favourite track long after the concert had ended.
One group of young women were seen wearing T-shirts specially made for the event - with slogans such as ´Call Me Al´ and ´You Can Call Me Betty´ printed on the back. Presumably the £61 ticket was worth it for the performance of their favourite track alone. The rest of the 3-hour set, not to mention all the support acts, was just a warm up for this one song.
The West London contingent of the YCCMA fan club continued partying on the Underground on the way home. Here they are singing their song (including percussion, horn section and the verses):

  | We took the bus back to our hotel, and a group of VERY DRUNK young men got on - their language was pretty bad, and they were falling over people, and hanging onto the hand straps of the bus. Then they all started singing 'daa da da da - daa da da da' and I had to smile, because I knew where they'd been! They got off before us, thankfully, but we could hear them chanting the 'daa da da da' going up the road, LOL. |

  | I like that!
I guess in summer 1991 I also was nothing more than a YCCMA fan club member.
Well not really true, I was the only guy listening to the whole cassette tape of Graceland. |
