oh you must be melting Scaaty ;-)
But thanks for the info... I am checking at the moment for London. I thought of going only 2 days, but that is nearly impossible, the longer you stay the cheaper the flights are.
Oh my good...booked everything now. That gets more and more complicated every year (online booking and paying). I remember I bought my first PS tickets in 1999 online, and it was just a few clicks.
This time I had to fill out many forms and search for credit card bills...
I tried to book a room at airbnb.com - private rooms, shared with the people who live there. Looks nice, clean and is cheaper than a hostel.
I only just got home, are you going to Hyde Park Bodo? That's wonderful news. Did you get the ticket for July 15th? I think you could get 2 day tickets, to include Bruce Springsteen. I assume you haven't got that. We just got the one day too, but we're going for the weekend, hoping to see a West End show on the Saturday.
Great news you are also going Bodo. It certainly should be a very special show.Too good to miss. The Graceland musicians are rehearsing now in NY. I am getting excited and I am not even going!
Actually we are going for the whole week. It would be a pleasure to meet you and others, maybe on Saturday or other days?
I did not buy the Springsteen tickets. I realized that too much entertainment does not increase my excitement (means I would totaly forget about Bruce Springsteen when I see Paul the day after...)
I know I first said that I do not want to travel again this year. But now it is really THE GRACELAND band. Paul should release such news, not hide them.
And there is also Jerry Douglas, Hugh Masekela and Jimmy Cliff - Under African Skies, LBM. Yes, it is something special. Although I somehow have a feeling that this might only be the firs mini leg of a tour, to see if there is a bigger request. But then it might take another year and a tour trough the USA will follow first in 2013 and Paul could come back again in 2014 - long time to go.
I decided to go to London because this is the only city where you can go directly from Graz. Flight costs 100 Euros, flight to Amsterdam would cost around 300.
I somehow realize that my excitement about a tour just starts a few weeks before, not 4-5 months before...too vague then ;-)
Well I hope your excitement has begun now Bodo, as it's only 2 weeks on Sunday! I'm the same, don't get too excited until nearer the time. It would be good to meet up - who are you travelling with? I'll be with my husband Andy, who is also a big fan of Paul - he's just more quiet about it. We're hoping to meet with Gerard Eastwood, but he'll be at the Springsteen concert on the Saturday, or I would say we could all meet for lunch. Let me think about it, and see what I can come up with.
BTW: Does it make sense to anyone that you have to pay 3,25 Pounds for printing out the ticket by yourself?
I mean, what is that for?
Surely, I could have picked up the ticket for free (and need a lot of time to find out where and when...), but there will sit a real person and it costs a lot of money for the company that I pick up my ticket by hand from this person. On the other hand it costs nothing if I have to print out my ticket at home.
Amsterdam would have become very expensive now. Tickets for the concert only available on the black market and the film and aftertalk is sold out for some time now.
But Hyde Park is a very good choice with Alison Krauss, Jerry Douglas, Punch Brothers and more :)
