  | Bodo, I'm on a Mac and there is only one scroll bar now. |

  | Thanks SueR
Can you work better with that 1 scrollbar?
If there any other problems let me know, I change a lot of things now.
I am not sure about the whole design.
a) I do not know any good design at the moment
b) I could just CENTER the whole thing, so it looks like there is not so much black space around it.
c) I know many people have very big screens nowadays, but the majority still has a screen resolution of 1024 or maybe 1280 pixels. So if I make a principal change I have to get rid of the background image...but only replacing it with a brown color looks very boring. |

  | Hi Eol
I consider some changes in the design now, what do you think about this one:
It is just a study what can be done easely and how I can keep the look and style of the page.
The main window will be centered (depending on screen resolution), the box with the text will be broader and have no limit on the bottom - it just fades into a brown/darker background color on big sites. So the scrollbar (and frame) will disappear.
I know it only looks like a minor change, but it is a lot of work to integrate it on every single page. |

  | For everyone:
This ist the best time to make suggestions about small changes too.
* Should there be a flag in the forum?
- If yes, should it display your actual location (from IP) or just the country you selected in the fan database
* What state should people have which only joined from Facebook? (only allowed to post in the forum, or add other content too [news, pictures]?)
* Do you want to see your facebook picture here? (or turn it off in the fan-database?)
* Is someone still using the TREE view on the forum? (because I have to delete this one I guess, because it uses frames for the postings... or I can keep it, I don't know) I did not use it since years.
* Should the excessive fans section open to everyone who registered - or only to people which have add something to the page?

  | My answers:
*I like the country flag, and just the name of the country - no need for actual location.
*I think people should register in the database, before they can add things, then you know they're probably more serious fans. Just my opinion.
*If possible, I'd like the choice of either my FB picture, or to add a different one. But I don't mind my FB picture being shown on here, if that's the only way it can be done.
*I've never used the tree, just the 'board' option.
*Excessive fans section - I think you should again be registered with the fan base. But I don't like that you have to 'earn points' before posting on there.

 | Great that we can make some suggestions. I guess it will be different for everyone but here are mine:
*I like the flag but wouldn't like to display my actual location from IP, just the country.
*This one is difficult, It could be useful if Facebook members can add other content too but there is a risk that people will post things that have nothing to do with Paul Simon and maybe more double posts. More work for you Bodo to keep the site clear.
*I would like to be able to turn my facebook picture off in the fan-database.
*I don't use the TREE function anymore so no problem for me if it would not come back.
*I think the excessive fans section should be a privilege to those who actual contribute to this site, not to people who only visit this page to look for some nice downloads.
*I noticed that people can register with another country than they actual live in, or has this to do with the IP addresse? FE I don't think Cher is from Afghanistan.

  | Thank you Ans!
I think I am with you on all the decissions.
I am not sure about how to measure the 'contribution' for the fan-section. Till now I had to hand-check if someone add a sentence to the biography or has add a Collaboration.
Now the biography is so long that it takes hours to read it and it's hard to contribute. And I was lazzy in checking those entries.
An easy way would be to count the forum entries. But I know from other forums that this is somehow stupid, people start to post 'aaaa' to reach 10 postings :-)
At the moment no one can access the fan-section, because we all have zero points...
============
Yes you can register with every country and you can change it. The IP location is false at 10-15% so I can not pre-select the country.
I will add 2 fields in the fan-database for your selection:
[x] Show my facebook/profile picture on the forum
[ ] Show the flag of my actual location instead of the choosen country-flag on the forum |

  | Ans, I think Cher misunderstood when registering. Afghanistan is the first available country, and I don't think she made a choice. Unless you can tell us something different Cher? |
