Now I check what can be saved...
Some things are impossible to restore, but on the other hand we do not really need the forum entries from the last 10 years. People can sign up again...upload pictures.
At the moment it helps if you could upload some of your pictures (less mass but more quality with a nice describtion).
Or you can google "site:paul-simon.info showsongtabs" , open the cache result (click on >>) and save the page, or upload the lyris immediately there again:
http://www.paul-simon.info/PHP/newchords.php (for profis, you can even type in the right ID = songnummer, thats the number behind the name "Lyrics for America by Paul Simon : 357" = songnumber 357 and type this number into the first field of the form)
It is good that google stores everything so we can get it back for some time. But it a few days or weeks google will update it's links and then everything is gone.
Hi scaaty, Tanks a lot. Andrea also started to save and upload songtabs so maybe we have to check what has been already made. I will ad a Information about which Song id number had already been restored.
Bodo, I saved many pics and other stuff but I'm not a champion to upload them (i make a big mistake some years ago...) ; I have to find some help for that. Be sure I will do my best to ""clear" all the stuff and find a way to share that again on the site. how to say in english : Bodo : take care !
I can restore really a lot of things from the google cache...I did not believe it would work that good. The only problem is, I have to be very fast.
I think I can restore all pictures without any problem.
Maybe I can even save all the concert reviews and setlists, but for that I first have to build up the concert dates database (I already have all the dates in an excel sheet now)
Sure I'm here! I'm so sorry for all the work you have to do Bodo. I will come back and complete my profile later. But I've seen that you looks younger than a 105 years old man!!
If we can be usefull for you don't hesitate to ask.
Hoping to find all our friends here.
Thank you again to you.
Hi Bodo, yes really a lot, maybe too much!!:-)
well I don't know. I love our forum pages because they are a part of the site story. I don't know in fact how many of old members ( I start considering myself one of this group with my almost 6 years of membership) is used to read those pages. But maybe they can be usefull for new people, for knowing better the sense of this great community that is a real friendship.
I also enjoy reading old messages, specilally the ones I shared with dear folks.
As the ones from Lara,Scaaty and ...Bodo,maybe?? :-)
If you could send us a link or so for we can save at least the ones we are interested on,that would be great.
