 | My box set came today. Agree with Danny. Brilliant film. Definitely not to be missed. Was going to hold off watching until seeing it on the big screen Friday but could not resist Run time was 1.41 but there are also bonus interviews. |

 | Good to see the Run time is 1.41 and some bonus material. Saw about an hour of the film on Canvas Belgium but missed the last minutes, already recorded 30 minutes extra but this wasn´t enough, Belgium TV often runs out.
Looking forward to receive my blu-ray copy of the film. Good you watched it immediately Brenda, will make it only better on the big screen, knowing the story you can really focus on everything :)

 | For those of you of bought the boxset, was it worth it ? How is the booklet ? How is the note pad for Paul´s lyrics ? I read that the two extra demos are intriguing, but unnecessary.

The demo´s I´d not heard were interesting, and the remaster of the album is absolutely superb. The film, as I stated was just awesome. I have built my collection up picking stuff up years on, after hype has died down. The price of the big box was just too high at the moment. I reckon the nest value is the CD & DVD combo. Also, get the Blu-Ray if you have the equipment to do it justice IMO.
We all know the album so well, the film is where it´s at. |

| My collectors special edition box set from Paul Simon Music arrived as I was listening and recording the Graceland interview with Paul last night on BBC2. Just as he was singing Graceland! It was even better than I had anticipated and is beautifully presented. there are 2 dvd´s "Under African Skies " with bonus material and the "Graceland African Concert". plus two cd´s which include the Graceland album , bonus tracks and audio interview with Paul which I have not had time to listen to yet. The booklet is A4 size and has many interviews and great photos ,quite a few new to me. There is also Paul´s lyrics legal pad showing work in progress{30 pages}, LP digital download and two large posters, one of which is{best of all} autographed by Paul and numbered . Mine is no 200 of 250 issued. Just so happy with it.

| Saw the movie. Yes, the movie is a lot about the criticsms and politics, and maybe not enough about the music. That annoyed me a bit. I guess if we want to learn more about the music and the songs, the VH1 special still holds.
But the 1st part is quite amazing. This is a really thorough account of the 10-12 days of recording sessions in SA. We have seen footage a lot, but always without the sound. This time, it is different. Kind of fascinating to see Forere live and...alive ! |

| Was the ´VH1 Special´ the same as the ´Classic Albums - The making of Graceland´ DVD?
When we watched UAS, I commented to my wife that the classic album DVD was primarily about the engineering of the album with a bit about the politics, with this latest movie the other way round. I will watch them back to back when my Blu-ray arrives, they are the perfect companions IMO. |

 | Just got my box set today started to watch the DVD really enjoying it - some comments bring back to me my initial impressions of the original concert which made me a totally committed Paul Simon fan -
1. From SNL " the obvious affection for PS from LSBM and he for them.
2. " rich white guy taking advantage of poor south africans? No but a collaboration between respected musicians. |
