Nobody´s talking about the new song ?

Sounds like a Nashville interpretation of Sunny Day....

The song credit goes completely to Edie Brickell. So, it is a song in which Simon appears.

We have a Starbucks -- thought they just sold coffee there. I´m cheap and make my own coffee -- they´re selling music?

Sounds alright. It´s not bad but its not something I´d go crazy to hear either. Kinda just background music. So I guess this is what their duet album is going to sound like.

Yes, you are right.

Very simple song & lyrics. Don´t think that Paul spent 3 months on it, contrary to his standard on his own.

In fact, as mentionned, it is not *his* song. We can still feel SBOSW influence here and there in some sounds (chimes, harmonica).

This tumblr account uploaded the song for those of you who haven´t heard it yet. It´s a pretty simple song like Mog said, but a happy tune nonetheless.

I Love it. Like most of Edie´s songs happy and joyful. The new Gaddabouts album pretty good too.

Nice and cheerful song, shows you how to enjoy the simple things of life, be happy with small things and appreciate what you have, in that way it´s not a very simple song but an intelligent song.

Thanks for the link Mike!

Agree with Brenda, the new Gaddabouts album "Look Out Now" is very good, very jazzy.

Now for me, it is Feeling Groovy meets Sunny Day à la Edie.

I Love it -- very catchy and tuneful. Who´s playing guitar?

On Pretty Day Carol Paul is playing guitar and background vocals.

I take mob´s point - that it doesn´t sound as though there´s been the same painstaking sonic approach taken on Pretty Day as on PS´s solo work... On first listen it does sound like a jolly fine ´throw away´ song - couple of voices and guitars, pleasing sounds. But, listen again.. On my second listen - and using only inbuilt laptop speakers I heard Mouth harps, harmonicas, background vocals, background background vocals, various percussion, steel guitars..... Birdsong... Vocal effects... Actually supreme attention to detail in creating such a simple sounding song. And it´s this meticulous recording and arranging style that I Love - a song that keeps growing time after time after time...
