 | Sure to please everyone Paul would have to perform every night of the week. Guess he has to have a life besides touring. August is usually his month for family vacations. Think they just decided to do another date in Dublin as Paul had a couple of free nights before Hyde Park and tickets sold so quickly. Luck of the Irish!

 | I have not followed the entire saga about this mini-tour, but it seemed obvious to me that Paul could not play the US because he was in that market no later than last fall. As for these northern dates, it seems like if they want to road the show a bit before going into more legendary cities (Paris). I am pretty sure the tour will be back in 2013. He wants to do South Africa, so he will wait for the summer to arrive over there (our winter).
All in all, this tour gives a great pretext to Paul 1) to delay the tour with Art, 2) to sit down and work on a new album.
By the way, SBOSW is one year Old this week ! |

 | Ah, it should read: *not* to sit down and work on a new album. |

 | Well, I think I´ve travelled enough to catch Paul. I mean, I have nothing against a travel with my car for 5-6 hours, but the last times I always had to book flight, hotel a.s.o and so we usually arranged our holiday destination to a part of Pauls tour plan.
This year I don´t want to travel to northern Europe in the summer. a) It´s quite expensive there compared to nearly all other holiday destinations b) I want to see the rest of the world, SE-Asia or Central-Africa. (That does not mean I will travel to Asia while Paul is somewhere in Germany, Italy, Hungary or..yeah - Austria) ;-)
I hope for a tour in 2013.
P.S: I was lurking the forum the last days and saw many comments on the so said short tour and not very balanced selection of cities/countries. So I guess I am not alone. |

 | I understand you Bodo. For me living in the Netherlands it is perfect. Almost every artist i want to see always playes in Amsterdam, Rotterdam or in Belgium, Brussels and Antwerp. For me Amsterdam is the longest drive almost 3 hours. All the rest is shorter so i understand what you mean. To be honest, i can not imagine to book a flight/hotel to go to a concert. All the artists will come to one off the four, Amsterdam/Rotterdam/Antwerp or Brussels when they are on tour. |

 | I´m still surprised there isn´t one single date in Germany (yet). I mean, every big artist comes to Germany.. Mark Knopfler always plays ten concerts when he´s here... Paul should at least come to Berlin! |

 | So I guess I should save the money to see Paul in Norway (my only possibility due to my vacation) and hope for Berlin or Paris???? |

 | I think the most disapointing European Tour was the Surprise Tour 2006, where he only played in the UK and Ireland. |

 | Thats right Bjoern. Couldn´t be topped.
I hope for a bigger tour, but you never know what happens. I do not cross my fingers for 2013, it will be 2014. First he will do some US dates and then some Garfunklious things I guess... He was touring in Europe last year so I am surprised he is coming again so soon. He obviously loves to play in the UK and Ireland, maybe because of the good weather and food ;-)

 | Buying a ticket is one thing, the prices are fair on this tour I see. People spend a lot of money for the pleasure of 2 hours in those days (compared to the time 10-15 years ago)
Anyway, the concert ticket of 65 Euros is just a small part of it. Flight ticket is around 300 Euros, Train ticket to Vienna costs 70 Euros, Hotel in Amsterdam ~50 Euros.
I am not going to do that for the pleasure of 2 hours anylonger (I never did it just for a concert). I would travel to Munich, Northern Italy, Prague, Belgrad, Budapest, Vienna, Slowenia - but these areas seem to be ignored a little bit by Paul. Vienna is one of the bigger cities in Europe with 2 Million people living there. (In 2008 he wanted to play in Eisenstadt btw., I am not sure if this venue would have been sold out - it is one of the smallest cities in Austria)
I am pretty sure he will come back and give more concerts later. This tour is extreme short and I wonder why. He could even add some dates without LBM if thats the real problem. But maybe he is again testing if people want to hear Graceland again (I am sure thousands of Old fans would come) |

 | For me going to a concert is more than just the pleasure for 2 hours. A lot of the fun is looking forward to the concert. And like you we always combine the concerts abroad with a vacation.
It´s your decision to make Bodo :) and I hope Paul will play one of the cities you mention the next time when he comes back to Europe.
