Maybe we don´t need to make flags and IPs visible...

 | Seriously, Bodo, get rid of the IP identification. There is no good reason for it. None. |

 | I have to agree with Joey here. The visible IP address doesn´t seem like a good idea, especially considering whatever investigation is being done. It´s best to ensure everyone´s privacy. |

 | You are right, no problem to delete that.
That was made such a long time ago (think 6-7 years now).....it was more an idea to keep trolls away.
And yes, the IP number does not say anything. Even the country is just an evaluation sometimes, but I think it is okay to see from which country you are posting (so you get a feeling for non-native speakers)
I didn´t have time to read the article now, what is that about? I guess they just mentioned the Paul Simon website to show how non-relevant an IP address is, right? |

 | The IP of others has been erased now in the forum. I think you only see that message with your own IP before you post...ignore it, it is just the text message and it takes some time to go trough all those files. |

 | Thanks Bodo! I´m glad the forum still can show our country´s flag because I think that´s a nice feature. The article is pretty interesting and I guess it goes to show that privacy is hard to come by online. |
