I heard from Germans they even like it if they do not understand a word. Anyway those lyrics are important/true/excellent.

 | So you get ticket easely?
I tried to buy some 3 months ago for a show here, already sold out. Thats what I do not like if musicians are suddenly no. 1 in the charts, then all those people who didn´t care about him show up somewhere, go to concerts and say´ I always like him, did not hear about him the last 15 years, but he always was ma favourite...blah´
So..hope Paul has no number 1 hit in the future. |

 | Originally he was only scheduled for one show in Zurich. It was sold out quickly, so he added an additional show...and because it´s fun he even added a third show, which takes place today.
Seats are already sold out but they still have tickets for the standing area (which I prefer anyway). Not sure yet, but I think I´ll go :o) |

 | Now Surprise...I think I just ordered tickets for the sold out show next week. Maybe I had luck and they did hold back a few... it was sold out for 3 months now. |

 | Excellent show. The ending was a little bit strange. I am not sure if it is really funny to come back for a 30 second encore and then let the people to ask for another realtive unknown encore. In that moment you have to give the people what the want...Boxer or Hiatamadl. |

 | Yeah, in Zurich he also did only that very short encore. He said that they actually would like to play more, but they have to clear the stage for the cleaning guys.... I wasn´t sure whether he was joking, but at that moment I was already decently drunk so I just believed it and enjoyed it anyway.
I also missed "Hiatamadl" and he also didn´t play "Solide Alm", one of my favourits... I hoped it´s still in the setlist since he played it last summer on tour.
But, as you said, it´s a little like a Paul Simon show; sure you would like to hear the Old classics, but you don´t care after the show because it was just too good anyway :o).
Glad you liked the show too... and by the way, I´m going to see EAV next month ;o) |

 | EAV, wow :) I have never seen them live, but I would like. It´s strange because I now live in the city where they come from, but they rarely play live (I missed a free concert at the Stadtfest 2 years ago). Favourite song of course is ´Morgen...fang i a neues Leben an´..ok I see in Nov. they play here.
BTW. How many people have been at the HvG show? Here it was sold out, but a very small theater (would say 1000++ people)
I think he was joking (did they play another full length song AFTER the very short encore?).
Hubert told a lot of stories here during the first half of the show about the songs, his time in the Blasmusikkapelle and why they build that ´Gstell´ , did he talk about that in Switzerland too? I mean, do people understand him then, or does he speak standard German? I am pretty sure in Germany not all people would understand that stories and the jokes.
In his political songs he changed some lyrics, from ´Haider´ to H.C. and Serbia to Palaestina. I guess he did that years before but it was the first time I heard it. It´s somehow strange to adapt the lyrics.

 | You absolutely have to go to a EAV show. This year they have a best-of show... check their homepage.
To me, a EAV show is more like a party-event than a musical highlight... I recommend taking a few friends, having a beer or two and enjoy a concert full of cool songs you know since your childhood :o)
Hubert played at a rather small but noble venue. I guess there were about 500 people. He played two additional shows. The balcony seats were always sold out, but I easily got some tickets for the standing area - at least for the last of the 3 shows.
I think he only came back for one encore which turned out to be a short acapella yodel-thing with the band.
If I remember correctly he didn´t talk too much between the songs... I´m sure that he has more stuff to talk about when he´s with an Austrian audience. |

 | He somehow believes the people in other countries would not understand him, at least he told us that he was happy to have the first show now in Austria. Because now everyone understands his lyrics. Eventually. He told very funny and long storys. But I guess Swiss people would have understood him. I am not sure.
BTW: There is a funny translation circulating from ´Brenna tuats guat´.
