 | I think it´s interesting that he said his contribution was 1/8 on many songs. Usually it´s human nature to overestimate one´s contributions and discount the efforts of others. I think overall his contribution to the success of the duo was fifty-fifty. |

 | I agree Carol. Perhaps Art considers his direct contribution to be so low, as he is very fond of the lyrical aspect of the songs. However, indirectly, Art had a tremendous influence on practically every one of the songs Paul wrote in that period of time. He served as an inspiration harmonically for sure, and played a great role in the image and talent that made up the duo. Some songs, especially those on the "Bridge Over Troubled Water" album most likely wouldn´t have existed if it wasn´t for the friendship Paul and Art had together. |

 | There is something new to learn for him...
My wife is kind of a noneater. We don´t have a dinner table. We have a big butcher-block table in our kitchen. So you eat sideways on the run. We have minimized what eating is all about except when we go out to dinner.

 | This seems like a very odd thing to tell an interviewer!

 | The dinner table is one the most important pieces of our house. I hate it, when everybody eats on their way from somewhere to somewhere else. I always urge the kids to take time and sit down to eat and we try to eat together as often as we can. |

 | I have a feeling that James Garfunkel does not live at home any longer - why should he. Art seems to be surprised (in the interview) that his son does not like to be a copy of his dad anylonger. It was really strange when you saw him together on stage with James, same clothes, same hair. You should not do that to your kids. And he now is surprised that with 16(!) James cut off his hair... I know I am not allowed to judge, but if I could decide I would be one of Pauls kids, not the Garfunkel-copy. |
