Was listening to Songwriter and reading the booklet, as each song played checked to see list of musicians on each track.
Further To Fly has listed two backing guitarist Vincent Naguni and Ringo Starr. Yes Ringo Starr check it out.
Is this the same Ringo Starr former Beatle usually found on drums? Can you guys shed some light on this.

 | Since Paul shared stages with Paul, John and George (on separate occasions) he probably wanted to do someting with Ringo too.
I´ve never heard about this, but I am sure it´s THE Ringo... I can´t believe that there is another Ringo Starr (in the music business). |

 | From memory I believe it was Rigo Star, guitarist, and not Ringo Starr of Beatles Fame. |

 | This seems to be a common error: I als have read that in the booklet years ago (but did not think longer about it, but I remember reading RiNgo Star.
For sure it is RIGO Star.

Other sources giving the wrong information: Roswitha Ebels book. http://books.google.at/books?id=5tGr0Ufh_0EC&p g=PA187&lpg=PA187&dq=Further+to+fly+ringo+ starr&source=bl&ots=x_nBbA3jv6&sig=n4b dM7m_SDyq10JAZuoQyR6DIxg&hl=de&ei=fSTFTv69 Ec-SswbJw_jsCw&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct= result&resnum=4&ved=0CDsQ6AEwAw#v=onepage& amp;q=Further%20to%20fly%20ringo%20starr&f=fal se
Wikipedia is our friend: It says ´misprint as Ringo Star´ (scroll way down)

It might be that 20 years ago someone who was writting the credit lines thought ´hey, they made an error, it must be Ringo not Rigo Star´ :-) |

 | So now I have to check if it is misprinted as
Ringo StaRR or
Ringo StaR
Version 1 = someone changed it because he was ´too´ clever
Version 2 = misprint, or someone not so clever tried to be clever and created a new star.
If you check that link you see that also google is unsure what to do...computers..

The booklet for Songwriter does state the name as Ringo Starr.
The audio cassette of The Rhythm Of The Saints sleeve
also says Ringo Starr on credits of Further Fly as guitarist. So assume not the Beatle.
Interesting discovery Ringo or not

Thanks Brenda we now know its Rigo Star. Your attachment shows the real artist. Who knows one day maybe Ringo Starr Beatle will play with Paul Simon.
Its been fun trying to solve this mystery thanks you deserve the medal for putting the link on cheers.

 | Thanks Nick.I just remembered a previous discussion a while back but maybe it was on a different forum. Yes it would be great to see Ringo play with Paul. Just need to get him in the audience at one of the shows and who knows what might happen! Paul is certainly doing the unexpected in the concerts this year. |

 | Was watching a documentary on the BEEB last week about the late great George Harrison, unfortunately no mention of his friendship with Paul Simon (in the episode I saw). However it got me thinking - would Paul have been interested in being part of the Travelling Wilbury´s - it´s seems strange he wasn´t involved being of similar calibre and vintage as the other members |

 | Interesting question Scaaty - all I can add is that I do not think Paul would join a band or fit into a band of all-stars. Just because he can not have 100% control of the output - even of his own songs. For 1 song it is okay, he did a lot of contributions or duets, but as a writer of full albums you might feel narrowed down as a band member. |

 | Unfortunately I think Bodo is right, Paul would never "sink so low" to accept membership in another band (like Traveling Wilburys). I say unfortunately, because I think it would do both him and the hypothetical band good. Take Traveling Wilbury´s as a good example how a fun collaboration can turn into something really appealing.
Maybe Paul would think otherwise if it was a band he put together himself with other stars, but the chance that this will happen is of course extremely unlikely. |

 | Every time I say this on this site, it gets ignored, but I will say it again anyway -- I think Paul should attempt to write and record with Paul McCartney. McCartney creates very catchy tunes, but his lyrics are spotty. Simon and he would seem like a good fit. They could call themselves Paul and Paul, so that neither one gets top billing. |

 | In a concert program that I got at a Paul McCartney concert some 20 years ago, McCartney said that he considered writing with somebody else like Paul Simon after the breakup of the Beatles, but that apparently never happened. I wonder if he ever got around and ask him? |
