 | No news from Art since early 2011 i believe. I don´t exepct good news. This is taking to long...... Also i believe Paul is planning another (huge) Graceland tour for 2012 so i think (hope i am wrong) the singing days for Art are over..... |

 | when Paul started dedicating Only Living Boy ´for Artie´ this spring - I take that as his tip of the hat to the past. The vocal cord thing is not good - whether it´s admitted or not.
At best - maybe he rallies for one last stage appearance with Paul. Odds are long tho, I think. |

 | Totally agree. It has been too long. He is not even performing solo! |

So is with great sadness that I must now accept that it is highly unlikely we will see Art perform again. Therefore I am glad that I got see him 4 times solo. I will trasure his signed autograph, from his apperance in Liverpool back in 2003.
Also am glad I have the Video and DVDs of Central Park 1981, Accross America and Old Friends Live On Stage.
Art Garfunkel as a live performer will be sorly missed. If he is able to do a couple of fairwell numbers with Paul fantastic. But at least we have his singing memories.
This weekend Art will be 70 thanks for sharing your voice Mr G |

 | I think if Art stops singing than he will make that clear in an official announcement or perhaps a little press confrence, don´t you think? As long nothing is official than there is hope. The last thing we know he said he was planning on getting wel soon and doing some tourdates with Paul....... |

 | There is no way Art is not going to sing again. I wasn´t
brought here for nothing. |

 | I think he will return to the stage. They always said it is going to take a long time. And his decission to smoke even after his illnes didn´t make it better... |

 | i´m clearly a bit of a pessimist on this one. I don´t think ´no news, is good news´ in this case. MAYBE he has one shot left at a performance with Paul. The voice healing seems very tenuous. Who´s to say that one performance doesn´t re-strain and exacerbate the problem all over again. |

 | One more performance most likely would re-strain and exacerbate the problem, which is why Art is exercising his vocal chords extremely slowly. Over time, he may reach the point where he is strong enough to sing one or two songs at a time, and may eventually reach the chance of a short setlist. A complete tour is possible in the long run but it wouldn´t be more than a few dates here and there.
I´d say his voice may still be there, but it will be extremely fragile. Handling it right could result in at least one more concert, which I hope I´d be able to afford seeing. |

 | You can´t ignore "Old Friends." I have been looking forward
to that for a long time. With our "Old Friends" here, it´s
going to happen! |
