 | Open letter to Paul: Dear Mr. Simon: Your song, "Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover," is so catchy and clever. As I was thinking about the hard times we humans have created for one another, I found myself hearing your tune with the words "Let´s Take Care of One Another." What if you were to sing these words, and they were to stick in so many people`s minds, as your other lyrics have done? The words brought peace to my heart. Stephanie Siegel.

 | Think the man has covered this for us. Sometimes, words like silent raindrops fall . .
Acts of kindness, like breadcrumbs in a fairytale forest, lead us past dangers as light melts the darkness.
Love, . . . all the while it´s free as air
Like plants the medicine is everywhere

 | My favourite Phil. "Acts of kindness, like rain in a drought, release the spirit with a whoop and a shout!" |

 | How much will all those words help as long as our leaders sing things like: we came, we saw, he died.
?
There is absolute no respect for life on this planet, whatever Paul Simon will sing.

 | And Mr. Bodo once again fuels the global antidepressant market! Who´s paying you: Pfizer? Zoloft? Prozac?
Its getting frustrating for me watching you subjugate all your forum viewers to your vitriolic and, frankly, nihilist interpretations of human life! But its a task I accept, my friend. |

 | to be fair to Bodo: we have here (in the US) in some of our most recent political debates, audiences cheering 200+ executions in the state of Texas, chants of ´yes´ to a question on whether someone without healthcare in a coma should be allowed to die; and booing a gay member of the military. Pretty toxic, I´d say. This in a civilized "christian" nation.
And to tie this to the forum: the genius of Simon´s music is the the recognition of dark and light in human nature. |

 | I know these days are hard times for the world.
But there is also a lot of beauty in the world, Paul said that once in an interview.
Let´s hope that things will get better in the future.

 | hmmm, maybe its paul´s tendency to sing in the voice of the almighty on this recent album that has caused some of you to confuse him with the messiah.
He is a really good song writer though, that´s something...

 | It is very confusing, that a lot of people are here as "Forum Guests" and don´t sign their posts. You never know, who answers what question and where the answers to what remarks belong.

 | I do not answer on guests hidding themself and trying to attack others. And of course I will remember you of article 1: Freedom of speech.
So if you do not like to read my opinion it is your choice to leave guest.
BTW: In the USA I would see myself as a democrat (because there are not many options anyway), but when I see how Mrs. Clinton is acting I believe it does not matter anyway. Let´s get him and kill him is the answer to everything today. Fine.

 | Maybe what I wanted to say is: Since John Lennon sang: Give peace a chance a lot of people joined in, but in real life nothing changed.
So musicians might give you a positive view of life, but that counts only for your private emotions.
And a foreign minister of the so called peace bringin nation of this world saying ´we came, we saw, he died´ shows just how less respect for life exists in our daily routines. Is this our role model? |

 | Well forum guest, if you think Paul is a messiah to people who really enjoy his music and get comfort and joy from his music and lyrics than in my case he is my little messiah ;-)

 | Hi Bodo, her comments were stupid but the Kadaffi family were a very violent family. I was shocked the other day what they did to the maid. Kadaffi was a terrible dictator. He is responsable for horrible mass murders in his country and other cruelties. The sad thing is that the world leaders visited him and did business with him for so many years.

 | No need to attack Bodo for simply telling the truth. The world is obviously going in the wrong direction and that should be clear to everyone. Songs help me to get by and feel better from time to time. But of course they can´t change the world or have the same impact as they once used to. The majority of people don´t want to or can´t understand. We are hurrying too much, thinking too much about career and money and forgetting to be humans. As Paul said, if I wasn´t a part of the human race, I would be against it. |

 | As long as questions like this lead up to people attacking each other, because they don´t like different opinions, one should not wonder, why there is so much hate in the world.
