 | This is very sad news.
I didn´t realise he was older than Paul Simon. Certainly on the Gershwin DVD he was hiding his age very well. For me, his performance of Gone At Last with Yolanda Adams is the highlight of that DVD.
If I could travel back in time, my pick would be to experience first hand those 1970´s Paul Simon concerts (1973 - 1976) with Urubamba and Jessy Dixon Singers. That is the music turned me into a big fan of Paul Simon´s music.
What has been true over all these years is that the music of Paul Simon is both unique and yet celebrates in a truthful way the excellent musicians he has collaborated with and toured with. The quality of his writing honours his collaborators contributions. He is most definitely not a one man band. |

 | I agree with you, Gerard. Those shows remain some of my very favorite musical experiences. I am very saddened by this news. I have a couple of Jessy´s solo albums and I found them both musically and spiritually enriching.

 | Sad news indeed. As well as the above, I also enjoyed the Jessie Dixon singers performance on the Paul Simon Special and the vocals they added to Wartime Prayers on Surprise in 2006. |

 | So let`s be glad that "Live Rhymin`" was released again and the sound is good, even better than before.
Except for track 13 "Kodachrome", which really is a shame. Why Simon gave permission for it?
Something So Right (14) is a little bit better.
(A little bit better, could it be a song title?) Nice weekend!
