A new collection of Paul Simon solo songs will be released on October 24th. All the songs are handpicked by Paul himself, so it is not something like a best of, it is more a list of his personal gems. The album also includes an unreleased live version of Sound of Silence from 2011 and Aretha Franklins version of Bridge Over Troubled Water.

Songlist:
The Sound Of Silence (Live at Webster Hall 2011)
The Boxer (Live at Central Park)
Bridge Over Troubled Water (Aretha Franklin)

I would like Ten Years and Twenty Five years, as well. But, hey, he didn´t ask us.....

A tiny little piece from Twenty Five years is on Oprah´s farewell show everyday.

I would Love to have a collection of Paul´s live performed songs and collaborations on an album.

That video is BRILLIANT! Choice cuts from great documentaries strung together to paint a portrait of our favourite singer/songwriter... Superb :-)

David from UK says :

This is surely just marketing nonsense..." I left off some good ones, eg... mrs robinson...". So the S&G era was in the frame, but only 3 songs were fit to make the grade ? Come on, i don´t believe even Paul thinks this. Or if he does he is trying to make a very moot point. Or he is so jaundiced about the Artie relationship he has lost all perspective (not impossible frankly).

This is just the usual greatest hits, with about three personal selections (Tenderness, Peace Like A River, That´s Me) added. Anyone on this forum could come up with a more interesteing selection which highlighted Paul´s abilities as a songwriter whilst avoiding the obvious greatest hits syndrome. Despite Paul´s blurb, this selection has too much of the latter and not nearly enough of the former. I don´t believe this is a personal selection for one cotton-picking minute.

I agree wholeheartedly!!! This just another spin to get us to buy another compilation. There isn´t even a chance of it becoming a rare gem like "Greatest Hits etc."

I´m in particulary bad mood cos Ireland have justhrown away a chance to win the Rugby World Cup!:(( In a sad week of a bleak that was the only bright spot on the horizon. Good luck to the welsh!
