 | Ok, so Paul Simon has won his last real Grammy 20 years ago, and for some time I thought this might be because they do not award that Old icons anymore...need to go with the commercial hits and so on.
But hey, thats not the fact. All what you need is your OWN Grammy category. Really?
Of course, it is easy. The Grammy foundation will create a new one for you, and whenever you release an album you automatically win that Grammy.
You just need a good name, like for example:
Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album
They created that category in 1992, and since that time Mrs. Tony Bennett won it 10 times - only in 2010 some error occured I guess
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grammy_Award_for_Best _Traditional_Pop_Vocal_Album
So why don´t they have a category for Paul Simon?
Do you know some good names?
Best surprising album of the year?
Best non-traditional we-didn´t-know-thats-possible album of the year?
Best we-need-a-new-category album of the year?
Mr. Bennett does not even write his songs.

 | The Grammys have (or had) a lot of weird categories. A friend of mine is the drummer with Jimmy Sturr´s polka orchestra. They won 16 grammys in a row for Best Polka Album. Finally the Grammys got wise and now they have elminated this category by merging it into ´folk music´, so I think their streak will end this year.
Speaking of Paul and the Grammys, instead of campaigning for the release of a 20 year Old concert, I think we should campaign for So Beautiful or So What to be nominated for Album of the Year. It would be nice to see his streak of nominations continue. And a nomination might result in more people hearing the album. |

 | I´m pretty hopeful that SBOSW will at least be nominated. Simply because of all of the the good press it´s gotten since it came out. Plus there´s that 9/11 tribute video of Paul which recently went viral and has caused a bit of a stir. Plus the I-tunes festival boosted his press, and there was the thing with Rayna which was a pretty popular video putting Paul back into the minds of alot of people. And if this documentary is popular the hype alone could help to get his album nominated. |

 | He also performed with Rayna on stage. Oh...wait...when you said "that thing with Rayna" did you mean the Toronto performance of "Duncan"? Oh, of course. Silly me, whatever was I thinking. |

 | I´m sure he´s going to win and he doesn´t need a new category. |
