 | I could ramble on for ages about So Beautiful or So What, even by Paul´s standards it´s a remarkable album.
He just doesn´t waste a moment on this album, I´m thinking of the songs Love & Blessings-the middle ´ain´t no song like an Old song Charlie´ and Love Is An Eternal Sacred Light-when the melody changes near the end for the ´Check out the radio, pop music station´ part.
In both songs those sections are so catchy and joyful, you almost want him to repeat those parts over again but he doesn´t and I think that´s what makes them special.

 | I agree. Both part you mention are favourites for me too. I like when he puts on his God voice to - "Big Bang, thats a joke...."
My only criticsm is that the album is just to short. I feel he needed another 2 songs (10 minutes) to feel we got a full albums worth of new stuff.

 | I know I´ve said before: any work/touring at this point is a gift. Sure: given QFTA was out for a while, Amulet is a very brief - another song or two would have been great.
Perhaps he will work with a bit more urgency now. 2011 has been huge for Simon and fans - and he´s not done yet. Whatever the Graceland project is will be exciting to see - and don´t be surprised if he drops the Edie project without waiting the usual FIVE years. |

 | In complete agreement with Phil. Fine analysis. |

 | I know what people mean about the album being short but there are more lyrical and musical ideas in one song than most artists could come up with in a whole career.
Lots of Paul´s albums aren´t lengthy-the PS album has 11 songs and is only 35 mins long. Bridge Over Troubled Water is about the same length as So Beautiful...and that album has 11 songs too. |
