I would think touring is boring, you never see anything but a
stage, I wish he was coming home to his family and just
resting awhile.

Cher, I am sure the tour was not boring to Paul and his Band. They seemed to be enjoying every show. As for only seeing a stage on tour I have photos of him sightseeing in Sydney . Also he and his band flew a couple of thousand km to Uluru,a sacred Aboriginal site.on a free day! His family often join him on tour . I saw a shot of his son in the audience at the I tunes Festival. As for putting on weight I
thought he looked very slim and fit but that is only my opinion. The camera at Tel Aviv had a very wide camera angle
Look at Mark and Jimmy Haddad too. He also mentioned in the Tel Aviv Press Conference that he was going straight to South Africa to take part in a television doc about Graceland. Wish my life was that boring!

I´ve just heard about Amy Winehouse and think about this article. We have to thank Him for being so "boring"!

Just heard the news too Lara. What a waste of a young life and she was so talented. Agree with you we should be so glad Paul is "Boring"

I bet Paul finds it boring having to do press conferences where people ask him stupid questions but he´s too polite to say so!
I wonder if the guy who wrote that article realises that Paul denied the ´rumours´ of a feud with Bob Dylan is because there is no feud! Paul spoke very highly of Bob in the interview he did with Uncut magazine a couple of months ago.

I agree. Paul Simon is awesome for being so smart. It´s not often that you come across a pop icon that is also an intellectual like Paul. Usually the best of pop icons are only pseudo-intellectuals, but Paul genuinely brings something to the table when it comes to the philosophy of art.

I just watched the whole press conference in Israel on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dpRLjZxeI8), as posted by Ans in the Graceland Documentary thread. Towards the end, Paul actually says he is bored, due to the measures he takes to preserve his voice... ´It sort of makes the road a kind of boring experience, to be honest with you. ... Very seldomly I go out to dinners after shows, I try not to talk...´

I had already heard about the no alcohol, no caffeine, etc policy, and I kind of Love the idea of him getting 10 hours of sleep per day, because I love sleeping and this sounds great to me... but he tries not to talk? No wonder he feels bored.

He doesn´t eat meat either? I missed that one. I would Love
not to eat meat, but I get so weak, but I did cut down a great
deal on it.

Not that surprised about Paul´s diet. He has spoken before about avoiding caffeine, alcohol, tobacco, meat, dairy, etc.

More surprised about Bob Dylan´s welding. I am not a fan of Bob Dylan and don´t know much about this work so it was news to me that as a form of relaxation, he whips out his welding torch and knocks up iron gates for celebrity friends.

Can you buy Bob Dylan´s gates, I wonder. Certainly more interesting than his recent musical output.

And he likes alcohol. "Bob Ginan"...

I think that Paul Simon does eat meat, but not much.

Dairy products are responsible for the most frequent food allergy. When talking about his problems with his right hand (about 1972/73) to David Letterman in 1982, he said that John Lennon and Yoko Ono recommended a doctor, who healed it by changing diet.

His problem was a calcium deposit in one finger, so maybe there is a connection.
