It seems as if I am the only complete stupid person on that planet which can not use the iTunes store. Don´t get me wrong - I do not want to use it, but it forces me to get those songs.

Anyway, after many many ´network connection timeouts´ (for no reason) I suddenly had to fill out a form, and wait in the line. Numbers get serious there.

I cry help me help me help me help me...but nothing.

Now look at that form. I have to select if I am either a Mr. or Mrs... for whatever reason that is so important for my order, it prevents me of buying anything, because i can only select the word ´select´ from this drop down box.

Did I tell you I hate iTunes? I am against all those mass-things eveyone has to use... but 1 Billion people can use that daily, and I am not even able to fill out a form. Jesus :-(

I am sorry that you have so much trouble with iTunes Bodo. I downloaded it a long time ago and it gives me regular updates and I bought several cd´s and other music, never had any problems. Hope you can solve your problems.

Well it really makes me wonder...
I only wanted to buy the new live CD with the 6 songs...the only way is iTunes, but I never was able to buy anything there. And hey, I bought music in other online stores before, but that iTunes software is crap :-( And it is slow...

Really Love iTunes...it has revolutionized my life, nothing less.

If you are bothered to get the new songs, do not worry, I can make a package for you early next week (I am away from home) through Megaupload, and finito.

The sound of the 6 songs are better in my view than the one we got so far from various sources.

Today it worked - for no reason why it did not work yesterday. But when I was ready to put in my billing address (which was already safed), this time ´Mr.´ has already been selected and the selectbox worked. It is only confusing and nerving.

I stay away from iTunes as far as possible. Several reasons why.
a) They want to have music exclusive, and be the only dealer. Thats against all rules of a free market. If they can control all music, they can set the price.
b) They had that DRM protection (away now I hope), something that is/was only nerving for the real customers, everyone who had a illegal copy had/still has an easy life.
c) I just finished downloading: Is that compressed format the only thing I receive? No flac available?
d) The software is crap. I guess it is made for the US-market and for MAC users. On a windows System it is extreme slow. Yesterday it told me several times that I have a connection problem (they blame me it is my fault with that message, but maybe it was their fault...because my internet worked fine). I have to log in / type in my password 2 or 3 times when I buy something, why? Click on play music: type in your password - Click buy: type in your password - Click on type in your billing addres: type in your password. Crazy.
e) I still like real CD´s...it is not the most important point, but having something in my hand is a real deal. Paying the same amount for a download should save some more money.

I hate Apple too Bodo. Progress in technology is when everythings works together with everything else. Apple´s aim is to go completely against that.

I want my PC, tablet, mp3 player, camera, phone, TV etc, etc to work perfectly with each other and Apple want me to buy all these products from one place.

Finally Apple products are style over substance - iPods look nice but sound horrible but they are made for listening to music so surely that´s the wrong way round?

As for the iPad - well it´s not as portable as a smartphone, not as good a reader as a kindle and not as powerful as a laptop so if you want something that does all three but poorer then get an iPad I think...

I´m a big apple fan, my new job allows only pcs so I now have to work with (IMHO) very ugly software and hardware ! Yes mac is about style but it also has substance. Look how intuitive the iPhone is even my non techie father was able to find his way around it.
Windows is trying to dominate and homogenise the world computer Market at the lowest common demoniator at least apple is the one force against this.
I have been using iTunes ( & iPod) since they first came out. It is very secure, I get no junk mail from them and have had no problems putting other music in. I´ve listened to more music and such a variety of genres in the ipod yrs than in my whole life before. A big plus was when the remastered Paul Simon albums came out. I had just bought all the 70s albums and didn´t want to buy them again - I was able to buy the bonus tracks fom iTunes and at least have the on theipod.

Bodo, I have had no problems buying songs from itunes so far, but also only use it for music I can´t get anywhere else. I agree with you about CDs, I still prefer having my music on CD and also burn the things I buy online. And I don´t like having to pay full price for music on a CD-R.
Scaaty, you say you can put other music on itunes as well. Well, I did that with the songs I downloaded from Edie´s site to copy them on CD (I didn´t manage it any other way) and after a while when I tried to listen to them again I was told they didn´t exist any more (even though they were there!?).

Ah ah ah !

I took me a long time to actually installed iTunes, and when I did, I was quite pissed too toward the thing that obliged me to do so. Since then, it is nirvana. I still buy CD´s here and there when I want to make a good move or a good encouragement. As I mentioned here several times, with the multiplication of audio formats (and brace yourself...we are at the beginning of that era, could you imagine yourself living in 2515 ?!!), the CD was so nice...you put it in the CD player, everywhere, and finito...you hear your music ! Now, it is audio formats competing, societies wanted you to adhere to their codecs.

Still, iTunes has led me to extensive pleasures in my music loving experience. I remember the day in my hometown where to get ´world music´, you had to pay 24.99 and more to listen to Olodum, after having waited weeks before the truck brings that importation to your place. iTunes, it is open bar, 24 hours/7 days, rain or shine. No, but is it not fantastic ? If I want to get a Ana Moura album at 2:00 a.m., I can !!!

I like the album illustrations stuff, and burn most of my music on CD. iTunes provides as well to make CD cover very, very easily.

I agree though : it can be a heavy software to run on your machine if your PC has some years in its body.

Ciao !

The software is complete crap and full of so called ´malware´

I just realized what it installed ...and try to get rid of most that things.
A service like ´Bonjour´ is running on my computer, another on is ´Apple Service Center Softwar´, another one is ´Mobile devices service´

It completely destroys your whole computer configuration, and installs things without question - you never need.

My computer is not Old.

I still wonder why so many people like Apple Software. If Microsoft would do that, the start a claim against them because of illegal software installation or whatever. If Apple does so, they say: "thats a good service, isn´t it?"
I am a little bit pissed of now. I do not want that iTunes thing on my PC, as I am used to play my music with winamp, and thats fine.
Apple wants you to use THERE software to play music, and they force you in doin so - because you can not buy that music without that software. In every other online music store I just can click on ´buy´ or ´download´ - and I get the mp3 file and after that I go away and say thank you for the music and goodbye. If you buy music from Apple your computer turns out to be a freak machine after that.
