 | Paul had to cancel a show due to throat stress and he is a senior citizen! S&G had to cancel a tour cause of Art´s voice and both are seniors. Why can not Paul issue a dvd of one or multiple concerts and why could not S&G make a "farewell" dvd instead of a tour?
Are Dvds too expensive to make or bring in so little money that it is better to tour? And I might be real wrong, but are not most of Paul´s current tours taped by him? Gosh it seems the audience is out there making pretty good videos with handheld gadgets so it seems to me it could be pretty easy to have Paul make a dvd.
Is there a reason why no dvds are made?

 | I Do Not have a clue, and i gave up asking for a cp91 dvd. The man Himself thinks it is released on dvd... So what.... someone with a good connection to the management might ask Them... i am Not as positive about a dvd 2011 release as others. Montreux wanted to release a dvd and a Audio recording, and Paul always refused. He might think we Do Not need the same Songs again on video, |

 | Bof, I can understand why he would not bother...
I mean...they probably use other ways of sharing the expenses of a filmed show. In 2006, it was up to BBC to film and broadcast; apparently, they filmed Webster Hall show for a PBS special...iTunes will take care of putting the show on his software...not big distribution cost ;-)
The age d´or of DVD was in the early 2000´s. I would not bother putting that much money on producing one from scratch and on my one, especially given that as soon as you put something out, piratas are very active...
Personally, my own DVD will be made tomorrow with iDVD. No need to wait after Paul. Thanks Patata !!!!! |

 | The only think that could be missing would be the 5.1 mix.
That´s pretty much it, given that Paul has never been strong on Special Features. |

 | Is the video quality of that iDVD the same as on the youtube clips? I will not sound too negative now, but one can clearly see it is not that crispy and clear...and a good made DVD would be 5 times better :-(
What is the sense of re-releasing and refurbishing Old albums for the 2nd or 3th time then, if pirates just copy it? I just wonder, does a Live Rhymin CD have more sales than a CP1991 DVD? Or let´s say the 1980 Live at the Tower DVD...?

 | I don´t understand this either. It doesn´t seem like the people in charge of this have any clue about what the fans really want. Or maybe they just don´t care. Best of collections, greatest hits and re-re-releasing the albums are just not interesting. They really should give something extra to the fans once in a while, but no! Live Rhymin´ and CP91 would be fantastic to have on dvd´s. But maybe it´s just wishful thinking. |

 | Isn´t that a part of the new record company deal that CP91 and Live Rhymin´ will be out on DVD later this year? It makes sense that they start with the release of the (early) albums and than go on with the DVD´s. I don´t have time now to look for info about the deal, will do that later.

 | Hi Ans
http://www.paulsimon.com/news/paul-simon%E2%80%99s -solo-recordings-come-sony-music-major-campaign-pl anned
Let´s see what will happen. When you read trough that article you might think that the person who wrote it believes that those concerts (Live Rhymin and CP91) ALREADY have been released on DVD once... Maybe they think so, that would be strange.
So they just made me buy the Live Rhymin CD again, to release a DVD later...oh yeah.
But how much time will it take until they release all that stuff? Article was from Nov 2010...8-9 months later it is not even a planned release in the future.

 | The press release from 2010 fall was more a statement of intention. I doubt any real work had been done by Sony at that time.
If you take a look at the Live Rhymin remaster, you will see that the sound was remastered in February of this year only.
