The delay on The United Kingdom getting Paul Simon´s new album is annoying. To read reviews of the album and interviews in our press and magazines is great but not when you can not get the album.
So we here in the UK have had to wait longer, yes I have read reviews here on the forum. No matter at long last today 13th June 2011 the new album has arrived.
Was it worth the wait is it as good as others have said. Well I like it played once will listen again and decide which tracks I enjoy most. Bought the deluxe version with DVD. The DVD is good background to how the album came about and video of Getting Ready For Christmas.
HMV UK packaged the new album alongside the new releases of Paul Sion, Live REhymin , There Goes Rhymin Simon and Still Crazy After All These Years. So thats good.
Having read the reviews will get Live Rhymin as my original is the LP and want to hear the advanced quality upgraded sound.

I hope you all forgive my spelling errors I find spelling not easy and it does not help the dictionary checking and altering words. So will try and type better in future. Please for give my grammar and spelling I mean well. |

 | It looks like the UK retailers might have underestimated the "success" of the album. Amazon.co.uk and Play are out of stock of SBOSW and HMV are out of of stock on their ´exclusive´ deluxe version. |

 | Heavens! I hadn´t realised it was STILL unreleased in the UK. That´s pretty poor. Do like Mary Katherine said on another thread and listen to the album on good headphones. It sounds great that way.
The original cd release of Live Rhymin´ released in 1987 by the way,was far superior to the vinyl,so the remastered cd should be wonderful. I´m expecting mine tomorrow. |

 | Thanks for posting that great news about the impressive debut Matthew! It is so nice to see this album up there with so many current and hip artists. It´s surely well deserved. |

 | Great!
Maybe it gives another boost to the album, the UK reviews are even better than those from the US and elsewhere.
"Not available" at amazon is astonishing, it is in their UK charts since about 50 weeks and shot to number two last week with the official release.
Maybe Paul will bring some 100.000 copies with him next week per airfreight to Ireland... |

 | I saw a TV advert for SBOSW earlier today. About 8pm on Sky News was a 15 seconds spot. It had some of rehearsal/behind the scenes footage we´ve seen of Rewrite & The Afterlife. The advert called it the perfect gift for Fathers´ Day. HMV must have (at least part) paid for the advert as it was telling people the CD´s now in stores and on HMV.com. |

 | And Take That are number 4!! Traffic was chaos in Dublin today because they are playing in Croke Park - wonder if it will be the same on Monday when Paul is playing in Vicar Street? Wonder if he is weekending here? |

 | SBOSW was album of the week on the Irish national station so got great airing - one of the presenters made a point of playing the less well known songs on the CD. |

 | I heard that Scaaty. They played Love & Blessings the other day. I doubt there´ll be that much traffic in Dublin tomorrow seeing as Vicar St only holds about 600 - 700. I think the capacity at the Take That concert was 160,000 over the two nights! |

 | That Was said in jest Rosie - I couldn´t see Irish Paul Simon fans causing any sort of chaos we´re a different breed from the boy band followers - which seems to almost everyone else in the country! |
