OK, folks I know it is - in the middle of his tour - maybe a bit unzeitmassige (not in the rythm of these days/months), but after reading about Bodo´s dream, where he basically said he dreamed Paul came in the front of his house and was doing a concert on a truck - hope I remember this correctly, I just thought maybe it could be interesting to see what, or if, some of us had other dreams in connection to PS.

I myself was in a big distress after finishing my studies (already had a small family) and could not get a job and dreamed I meet him and - in the most natural way - he offered me 10 000 bugs to start a business.

"Over to you folks!"

Hi,

I did not try my talents in that particular business, but in case you have some valuable ideas...

No dreams to report, but I did have an odd experience. In the recent interview in which PS talks about getting a letter from Mike Nichols saying that his two granddaughters had come into the world while ´Mother And Child Reunion´ was playing, I thought of a book I had recently read called Melanie, bird with a broken wing, a mother´s story by Beth Harry. Melanie had severe cerebral palsy and Beth cared for her and was her advocate.

The interesting part was that Beth Harry is from Jamaica and her husband was from Trinidad, where they lived. Ms. Harry now lives in Florida. When I thought of the book and the song, matching them just ´felt right.´ It was sort of like a dream b/c it was not a conscious process. However when I checked mother and child reunion on wikipedia, I saw it had been recorded in Jamaica.

I seem to have odd experiences like that with music sometimes, where it will just ´fit´ with something else in my mind and then later on I will discover a match. IRL there is no connection between Paul and the author of the book. Since I know I´m not psychic, I´ve been told what I am most likely doing is remembering details on some level but not remembering them consciously, and then using what I remember to match things. Sort of like riding a bike where you may not remember learning it but you know how to do it.

The strange part is that odd associations just "feel right" sometimes and I think that´s based on having read material such as about the song, consciously forgetting it b/c I read it a long time ago, and then retaining on some level enough to get a "right" feeling. It´s a feeling of intuition or dreamlike state almost.

However I did not imagine I met Paul at any point in this process ;)

Okay,I´ve got a silly dream to regale you with. When I was 15 in 1983,and only recently a Paul Simon fan,due to watching CP81 on a television broadcast,I read in the Sunday paper that Simon and Garfunkel were including Australia on there 83 tour. So I pestered my mother for the price of the ticket and waited impatiently for the day to arrive. Anyway, when you´re fifteen, someone in their early forties can seem like a senior citizen, and even though that was not the way I felt at all,my older brother, who was NOT a fan, must have tired of my months of eager anticipation for the upcoming concert and started to put these awful thoughts into my head that Paul and Art were Old,and that the concert would be a total disaster also because it was an open air event and the forecast called for rain on the day of the concert. I went to bed the night before the concert with my bloody brother´s comments pervading my every thought, and that´s when I had this silly dream that I went to the concert and the venue was something like Stonehenge! There was only about 20 people in the audience,no-one could hear because there was no PA system and Paul and Art were both white haired with long flowing beards...and it was raining! It was a nightmare. I woke the next morning and it was a crystal clear day,and the concert that evening was fantastic! Paul and Art were in their prime, the music was loud and there were 25,000 of us,not 20. That´s the only dream I´ve had about Paul...that I can recall anyway.

Only "R" rated, Nancy? I used to have a recurring dream that I was playing guitar on stage for the Mamas & Papas and John Phillips kept getting pissed off at me. The fact that I only know how to play one of their songs for real may have had something to do with it.

Yeah, actually I have played guitar on "California Dreaming" on stage but definitely not with the Mamas & Papas. Weird Al should have done a parody with your title: "Mundane, mundane so much ennui, Mundane morning I´m as bored as can be....oh, mundane morning mundane morning, couldn´t disagree, that mundane evening will be even worse for me."
