@Mireille: Welll, I think we have to wait a little bit. Swiss people are known to be very slow

here is my translation of the german review postet some days ago. i hope it makes sense for english-speakers.

Paul Simon enters the stage with his band: 8 grown ups and a boy in a large jeans-shirt. but the boy will be 70 years Old in october. we are sitting in the 12th row and can still see the fun in his eyes, and the fun he has with the audience wich adores him. like a warm carpet of people on wich he dances through this night.

10 years ago i had the idea (for a very short time) to be a filmmaker. and the Sounds Of Silence was the opener of the soundtrack of one of my short films. i was blamed for that by other people, because, they said, i should work with music that people of my age are listening to, that would make the films more authentic. at this point, the duo was my companion for a decade, for years on a very old casette, but always and everywhere. people of my age - what an apellation.

Around me some oldish men, luffing their feet rather gently when simon starts his journey trough 4 decades of music history. the setlist with its changes between old and new works. the new and (and to many people unknown) songs from SBOSW go along well with the old classics that make the oldish men take theirs hats down, makes old long haird hippies jump from theirs seats, make young people move their hips.canoodeling couples, nostalgic faces, laughing kids - this could be fucking movie scene. its rare that a clichee works so well.

i´d like to know what goes on inside a person´s brain, when he or she reacts to music in a certain way. i´d like to know what happens underneath the skin, when the music speeds up the heartbeat, makes us laugh or brings tears to our eyes. I´d like to know, why some music touches us and some music doesn´t do anything with us. on the one hand. on the other hand i´m glad not to know, just to feel.

being on the way with paul simon is also a journey through the wise little lyric-pearls (?)of this wonderful songwriter, his hoping forcasts and longing retrospects.?Why don?t we drive through the night? We?ll wake up down in Mexico?,?These are the days of miracle and wonder, this is the long distance call ?, ?A bad day?s when I lie in bed and think of things that might have been?,?I fear I?ll do some damage one fine day, but I would not be convicted by a jury of my peers?. and the hommage to george harrison."thank you george - here comes the sun" just when he vanishes behind the clouds. After an hour a kind of break. or the start to a 45 minute encore.Hello Darkness...his solo version of sounds of silence is also played in mainz. Gentle humming, beating hearts. wet eyes, magic moments.thank you, mr. paul simon.

no changes in the setlist. Was nice to meet Kuno again, so we really did enjoy our front row seats. Amazing! It was my 6 PS solo show, but never before that close to the stage. And yes we were allowed to dance, not from the beginning but during "The Obious Child" the security guys didn´t care anymore. Paul mentioned at the beginning that he liked the trees here: "Maybe I´ll watch the trees for half an hour"
Later on he said: "I´m freezing", it was a chilly wind after the sun went down. He nodded somthing about a blanket to someone right in front of him, but i can´t remember the exact words. A great Show as always. He´s so damn good live, can´t describe that with words. You have to experience it on your own, otherwise it is hard to belive. My personal highlights of the show: Question for the Angels is live so much better then on the album. Loved it. The Obvious Child, one of my altime favourites, was just brilliant. Great guitar work on "Peace Like A River". Well I could have watched, listened and danced for another two hours. It was terrible how fast these two hours went by;-)
Well, there was a let down: On the first song, "Boy in the Bubble" they had some trouble with the sound, it was a mess, the bass was to loud and the other instruments were messed up too, but fortunately the fixed it and everything went on perfect.
When we exited the arena we left thru the backstage exit. The tourbus and Paul´s limo were still there. Bakit was just boarding the bus, but we had to leave. Two minutes later Paul´s limo drove by and I made it to stop, but no changes to see a thing in the darkness and thru the dark windows... No luck this time, but still remember meeting him 3 years ago in Montreux at the lake.

Added the Phoenix review from the Arizona Republic, so I can´t account for its accuracy. Looks like he added My Little Town and Graceland.

The AZ Central article was quite accurate. It was a fabulous evening! Paul was in excellent form. The band was just superb, as always. Paul also signed at the stage door. Only PS material and no obvious ebayers.
