Hi! Michiel, read the article of the Telegraaf. Totaly different view, more real i think.
In the first song his voice wasn´t that good, but that had to do with "afstemming".

Thank you all, glad you two had a great time too.

The article in de Telegraaf is indeed much better. Hier is de link. Also a nice picture, it´s the first time I saw Paul wearing a necklace. It was a nice rosary. Not a jewish thing, so now we can speculate why he wore it...;-)

I´m glad that you enjoy the concert, Ans !
Paul didn´t wear a necklace in Brussels or Paris. Yes, wz have to speculate-;) But, it seems that the concert was shorter than ours (more than 2 hours). Am I true ?

Yes Mireille, the concert was shorter, like Glastonbury was, although I thought Paul played one song more. There are a lot of acts at North Sea Jazz, everyone gets to play 1 hour and 15 minutes, Paul played 1 hour and 20 minutes. It was a great setlist for NSJ.

The Boy In The Bubble
50 Ways To Leave Your Lover
So Beautiful Or So What
That Was Your Mother
Hearts And Bones
Mystery Train
Wheels
Rewrite
The Obvious Child
Slip Slidin´ Away
The Afterlife
Diamonds On The Sole Of Her Shoes
Gumboots
Kodachrome
Gone At Last
Crazy Love Vol. II
Late In The Evening

And maybe one more but I am not sure...

Now I have one more concert to go to, next tuesday in Mainz :)

As Mainz was open air we were very lucky with the weather, when we stood in line to get in it rained and there was a little thunderstorm. About an half hour before the concert started it was completely dry and even the sun came out. Susi and I talked with Tony Cedras before the concert and he told us they were worried in the early afternoon they had to cancel the concert! How lucky we were! It was a seated concert, I had a good seat in the 6th row, right before the speakers -good sound- and could see Paul and the band very good. Paul said he was glad to be back in Mainz and welcomed the sun and the good weather :) It was nice to see the performance in the open air by daylight for a change, it is a whole different atmosphere, I liked it. The setlist was different again, he left out Vietnam/Mother And Child Reunion and played YCCMA at the end. Halfway the concert everyone stood up and stayed up to dance and enjoy the concert. Paul thanked us several times in the German language saying, Danke, Danke schön :)
Tony said to us we should come back after the concert, if there was time he wanted to invite us for a drink backstage. But unfortunately after the concert he came and said there was no time, they had to leave early because they wanted to drive the same evening to the Swiss border. We talked a little, Tony walked back, we waited till the other bandmembers and Paul came out, they were too far away but Paul waved goodbye. The concert was great, good atmosphere, good audience. It was a nice closure for me. Now I hope I can see Paul in concert again sometime in the future.

Hi everyone, thank you for the nice reviews and all! I went to the Berlin concert, and loved it (not very surprisingly). Philipp Boerker already posted a very nice long review about it in the concert list section.

I just found some nice concert photos online and thought I´d post the link here: http://www.spreeradio.de/mediathek/gallery/8900/13

Someone also uploaded a video review to youtube, that contains a few seconds of the actual concert: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGzjWc1BDNw

It was truly beautiful, in every respect.

Oh, and actually, there is a video on youtube of Sound of Silence.. which started with a funny moment: While Paul was playing the intro a plane from the nearby airport was noisily flying over us. Paul made fun of the situation by bending along in the direction where the sound seemed to be coming from... Quite hilarious.
