wow, that version of Sounds Of Silence from Minneapolis, you can really hear he is struggling with a virus or a cold but it works well for this song, lends it some kind of extra gravitas or something like that. Maybe I´m reconsidering his idea that he should have had Dylan sing "ain´t it strange the way we´re ignorant, maybe that would have sounded good for the line...."

Sorry, I think it´s not the famous Rihanna. Might be he just let someone play who wants to, but it´s remarable anyway and she´s really good. Audience went really crazy. So now you knaw you will get a chance if you got the balls to do so.

Out of the 2 shows in TO, here are the songs that I have reached full live maturation in my view:

- That Was Your Mother
- Gumboots
- Late In The Evening
- The Obvious Child

Keep working on it, Paul: Dazzling Blue (feels flat, hopefully will be played with Quicksilver in Nashville, needs some violin and gorgeous back vocals), Crazy Love Vol. II.

Songs that I would have skipped easily: Slip Slidin Away, The Only Living Boy in NY (played on Old Friends tour + Surprise Tour).

Good that YCCMA has been put to a momentary rest. But no Me and Julio & Graceland, really ?

he´s doing @ 5 Graceland songs - but I do agree, with the 25th anniversay, title cut would be nice. that´s my only unfulfilled wish. (I´ve even let go of The Boxer, as he does NO purely S&G songs. Remember SOS was a PS song first, and OLB was a pretty much a simon solo on bridge.

Simon long ago said he never wanted to become just an oldies show. with the exception of the Old Friends tour, he hasn´t.

More from Toronto, Sound Academy; May 7/2011 on Shirleyf228s Channel; Pics are great, sound´s mostly overdriven

A very nice take of Here Comes the Sun:

Also takes of Late In The Evening, Diamonds, DUNCAN (Raina), Obvious Child, 50 Ways

I agree to mog. To me the new stuff seem to sound generally flat, so you would wonder for what he needs a Band of 9!!!? Why he have to toil with the Big Bang was a joke-part? For example. Aren´t there one or two of his fellows with more sonorous voices?
