How many attended Simon & Garfunkel´s 1982 concert in London at the Original Wembley Stadium. Sadly I did not. Although I have the T Shirt, see my article about The Paul Simon Appreciation Society. Was the show fantastic what was set list?
Tragically I did not get to see Simon and Garfunkel when they toured in 2004 as was away on holiday in Canada. A Friend did buy me the Tour Booklet so that was nice.
What was the Concerts in Hyde Park and Manchester like. I have read a review on line from a lady who produced a detailed 20 page report of Hyde Park show. Not sure if you can access this:
http://www.aboutlaststnight.org.uk/simongarfjy04.h tm
Hope you can access this.
I did however manage to buy a 2004 T Shirt with Simon and Garfunkel´s A Collection Front CD Cover Picture on Front and Simon and Garfunkel on reverse with tour dates, when I attended Art Garfunkel´s recent solo concert in Manchester England.
I have seen Paul live 5 times solo and the same for Art sadly never together except on DVD. I did actually meet Art in Liverpool back in 2003 and got his autograph.

 | At Wembley in `82, I remember having to wait outside the stadium for hours to get a place near the stage ` it was a free for all and there was no seating on the pitch! Strongest memories are of the 72,000 strong crowd at my back and them going crazy when Paul and Art walked on.
Flames from the crowd lit up the stadium during one of the songs ` I think it was S of S.
Paul & Art`s harmonies were amazing throughout but they really floored me during `All I have to do is dream`.
I bought a Tour sweat shirt and a programme and still have them. I also have my ticket stub and newspaper clippings of the concert.
I was also at the 2004 shows at Manchester and Hyde Park but I recall Wembley as being the best atmosphere of the three by far.
My ticket for Wembley cost me £10.00. The 2004 tickets cost me a small fortune!
PS. Does anyone have personal photos, film or video of S&G at Wembley in 1982?
If you could leave contact details (email) I would Love to have a copy of something.

Great! There were one or two images on the site which I hadn`t seen before so thanks for that.
It`s a long time ago, I know, but I still hope there is someone out there with film, video or audience photos to share from the Wembley concert.

 | I don´t want to destroy your hopes, but when there did not appear any video till today, then the chance is about zero imo :-
And - I have never seen an audience taper older than from 1987. Who on earth had a small private film camera in 1982 (beside a super8 which would only run for around 20 minutes? :) |

 | Posting personal photos taken at 1982 S&G on flikr.com (among many others of PS solos. These are from some distance but there is one with everyone using lighters etc. I was much closer earlier on at The Palladium for Paul, provoking comments from him on stage as he could see me through the lights LOL! Lucky to meet Art after a later solo Royal Albert Hall show for quite some time to my amazement. Thanks Art!

 | I was at the 1982 Wembley show - it was an amazing atmosphere - I remember not being able to hear properly for a couple of days after as it was so loud at the front - I was in the middle of my "A" levels also so I should have been revising... I still have the tee shirt hanging up.

 | Hi Steven.
I looked at your amazing photos of S&G on flikr. They brought back great memories, as I was near the stage at Wembley with friends. They were exactly what I was hoping for, so thankyou so much.
Hi Royd. Is there some way you can share the audience recording of Wembley? I would Love to have something. Please contact me at [email protected] if you think this is possible. Thanks again.

 | It seems that the 82/83 S&G stadium shows had a few things in common. Firstly, great atmosphere, ecstatic audience response and last but not least, the shows were LOUD. I also agree that the atmosphere was more charged at the 1983 concert I attended than at the concerts I saw last year here in Australia, great though they were. There´s just something about an open air show-that mass of humanity all congregating for the same reason, which often can´t be said for audiences attending reserved seating in the big 15-20,000 seat indoor boxes. I get the distinct feeling many of them are just there because it´s the biggest thing in town that night, which is hardly conducive to a electric atmosphere imo. |
