 | I don´t want to hurt the S&G fans and I know almost everyone enjoyed the shows in the US and it is nice that they did. Every one is in title to have their own opinion and each one of us listen and enjoy music on our own way. That´s how it should be, but everyone is also intitle to express their feelings and opinons in this forum and we should respect each other even if we think different. So I hope no one stays mad at each other for just given their own opinion. |

 | How do you know what he will or will not regret? Did he tell you personally?
And whatever people may think of Artie and his fans, they are indeed nice to each other and they obviously respect each other´s opinions! |

 | I am a great Paul fan, I think everyone here knows that...But I *think* its important for us to remember, Paul probably wouldn´t be where he is today, if it was for Arthur, and S & G...You´ve got to admit, even if you don´t like him, he had something to do with the success...And the same goes for Art fans, Paul of course, played a HUGE role in getting Art the success he has today..
Anyways, thats just my opinion...And on the subject of a new album? I say: Paul and Art, do whatever you think is best...You want to make a new album? Thats fine with me. I will always be a fan, no matter what you do...
My opinion of course...
PS I think both forums are equally great...I Love coming to both of them! :) |

 | "But in a few years the audience is dead"
You´ve been on a concert? How Old are you? 85?? Interesting...
Before Simon & Garfunkel´s audience is dead, Paul´s audience is dead. Believe me. |

 | "they have a show like 2 80 year Old people, standing around and clapping with their hand´s a little bit... compared to the 2002 Simon solo shows this concerts were horrible, believe it or not. "
interesting, once you say S & G was much to rocky and modern and then you say they were to "harmless".
Do you know what you write? I think, you´ve been on the wrong concert. At "my" concert everyone was standing, dancing, clapping, singing enjoying the show. The people were just suppressed by the gards... |

 | I think their audience will never die...When I have kids (I´m 14 right now) But when I have kids, I plan on raising THEM as Paul/S & G fans...The tradition will continue... |

 | to all who are against the art garfunkel-disliking. Post your message here:
(edited) *
have fun there and please keep the rules
Notice from webmaster: I decided to edit this message because of a few reasons.
a) This posting is trying to split this forum, and raises the dislike of Art Garfunkel fans vs. Paul Simon fans (in both directions)
b) It is against the netiquette to do such things
c) I decided it is against the forum rules here, to ´be nice and have fun´. If people have other opinions because they are simply fan from another musician (Skywriter you are in any way´s first a Art Garfunkel fan and not a Paul Simon fan) then they should explain their opinion, but not try to split fans and make them up against each other.
d) If you personaly have the feeling to leave this forum because a few people don´t have the same opinion than you then this is your decission, but it´s not nice to ask other people also to leave the forum. I don´t have anything against different opinions here, but this was over the limit for me. People who can´t stand different opinions are anyway free to run away.
I hope anyone can understand that.
I´ll try to stop this becoming here a flame war, some people take any opinions very personaly.

 | Okay, Julie, you prefer cynical, rude, mean people to kind, smart, caring people?
Interesting. We are not real? Are we some sort of fairy tale vision to you?
Let me tell you those names and posts which you detest have real people behind them. People, living, breathing people. We do have a utpoia there.
Why do you hate Love? What have we done to you?
We have not taken away your Paul (and I truely adore Paul, I can not even put into words what I feel for him) nor do we stay up to the wee hours of the night ploting a S&G album.
Because these people are nice and smart you hate (your word not mine) them. That doesn´t make sense to me at all. But it´s your opinion just as this post is mine.
These people care for one another. A lot. If someone is going through something tough or gets verbally attacked on the board we protect and stand up for one another. Will you get such a promise from the cynical people which you prefer?
You just summed up why I don´t like this board a whole heck of a lot. |

 | S&G´s fans will never die. They as a duo have touched six generations and counting.
The reason you saw only the older half at the show is quite obvious. Most teens, college age people, and grade schoolers couldn´t afford the ticket price(or it was on a school night and their parents didn´t allow them to go). I certainly heard stories of eight yr olds crying because they weren´t going to be able to attend the concerts. |

You are still trying to Proof that the S&G audience are young people. |

 | I guess I would have cried too, if they had come to the Netherlands and my parents hadn´t allowed me to go! But I think it´s true that S&G fans will not be dead for many many years! In fact, whenever Art or Paul gets mentioned in the papers or on tv, there´s ALWAYS a referrence to their once being a "part of the famous folk-rock duo Simon and Garfunkel". And in the end, that´s just what they BOTH are, isn´t it? |

 | That´s childish, instead of discussing something you gona leave the place because some people don´t have the same opinion than you?
And what if someone doesn´t like a special song, another new forum?
Why create another new forum where everyone just say´s "aaahhh, lovely, nice, beautiful, I Love it, huge, kiss", when there´s still the AG forum?
I for myself can say that this is boring, discussions are only interesting when there are different opinions. I think no one should act that way just because a few people on a Paul Simon webforum say they don´t like Art Garfunkel. Running away from something is then a rule which will follow your whole life. |

 | I think you missed the tongue in cheek smilie Willow.
I dislike the AG board because no one ever disagrees with anyone else. There is rarely a conflict of opinion. Boring.
You don´t like this board much ? Then why are you here ? Why do you keep coming back if not to defend your views against other divergent views. Because it is fun to hear other peoples views. This place would be boring if everyone agreed with one another.
Who are these rude mean and cynical people that you refer to ? Are you talking about this board or the AMPS newsgroup ?
By the way I see no evidence of the AG fans being especially smart. |
