 | Your list is probably too long, Paul will play festivals this summer, approximately 90 minutes. But how about a special performance July 12 at the North Sea Jazz festival in Rotterdam, ´I Do It For Your Love´ with Herbie Hancock....;-) I will be there :)
Herbie is touring this summer and promoting his last 2 albums, The River of Possibilities Tour. |

 | I think the events he plays alone will be about 2 hours. Maybe festivals shorter.
In 1991 I was in Berlin "Waldbühne" and his opening act was Van Morrison.
His respect let him leave out about 5 songs from his normal programme and give his guest about a full hour. |

 | I´ll be disappointed if he does another tour with no ROTS songs. At least give us The Coast! Could BAM have given him some ideas of songs to bring back do you think?
Trailways Bus?
Born At The Right Time?
Mother And Child Reunion? |

 | Yeah I definitely think (or hope!) that the BAM concerts would have inspired him to rediscover some rare material. I also think there´ll be less of an emphasis on Graceland than on the US leg of the Surprise tour, since it´s no longer the 20th anniversary. Which is a good thing - hopefully more songs from ROTS and Surprise itself??
I would actually Love the CP91 setlist - Born At The Right Time, She Moves On, Cool Cool River... |

 | I was happy that he did it in the last tour. I have always liked it. I would hope for more "ROTS", as well- not that I get to see him (unless he does a U.S tour after the european one). |

 | We`ll hear his voice, which is from an Old man. I hope, it`s as fresh as it was in 2006.
By the way, for me it is astonishing how much the album Bookends was praised, although it contained this spoken "Voices of old people", everybody switching it out after hearing it once or twice and tried to capture the next song "Old Friends" on grammophone.
Also it had some B-sides of previously released singles. Of course, America, Mrs. Robinson, Old friends/Bookends are great.
Patrick Humphries` first biography (he later wrote one about Simon alone) was called Bookends.
It was a time when very successful work like "Bridge" was mysterious. And it was partly ok, as New Musical Express wrote in 1977:
"It seems now as if Simon during the S&G-years was merely absolving his apprenticeship, so much more forceful and stimulating has his music become since then." |
