 | Hi Bodo, and others of course,
the release date was set on August 28th, I was on a mailinglist from Amazon since end 2002, they would inform me right away when it would be available, and later on they mentioned on their site that it would ne on August 28th.
However, my boyfriend ordered my dvd at another company in the States via Ebay and It was there even a week earlier available.
Kind regards, Amber |

 | On Amazon.com it is said the release date is October 28 for that DVD.
I guess you talk about the Simon & Garfunkel at the Park DVD, which was released in August.
Or am I total wrong?

 | Well, Amber, that doesn't exist. And 13 years later it's still an open end |

 | As Bodo wrote, it is the Concert at the Tower 1980 and is not an official DVD-release. You can still get it very easily.
It was officially released as Laser-Disc, but Laser Disc is history although it had a unique Quality.
People prefered VHS-Tapes at that time, and this part of the concert was shown on several TV-Channels so you could record it by yourself.
A Laser Disc is as big as a 33 LP and there are only very few users who bought the Players. |

 | "Concert at the Tower" was first released on Warner Brothers on VHS video in 1980. So of course this is an "official" release. That some other company has released it on DVD, doesn't automatically mean that it is not a lgit release. |

  | Yep...
What I learned with those videos is, that even Paul Simon might not know exactly who owns the rights right now...
Also it might be really hard to make money with that old live videos today. |

 | I think things like Netflix and Amazon Prime will solve the financial side of things. It doesn't cost much to make it available to stream and adds to the value of the subscription. |
