 | Yes - I should have add ´now´
But from all the stories I´ve read about him in the last years (going to his suit directly after the concert, telling his son he shouldn´t hang around with Tony and the other musicians because they are smokers... and the interview from 1984 where he said he gave up taking drugs) I concluse he gave it up. |

 | Off course I believe Paul, when he says that he doesn´t smoke anymore.
But, in general, the statement "I don´t take drugs anymore" doesn´t meen that they don´t smoke a little J from time to time. Because in a lot of opinions (in mine too), smoking a little hemp is not "doing drugs".
And I can imagine that Paul has this opinion too, especially because he was a hippie, he smoked and he is a musicien. If people like that talk about drugs, they don´t mean weed...
BTW: I said this about Artie too...noone believed me, and then we all saw it in the news... so be prepared: I guess soon we will have a new headline in the news section :o) |

 | Somewhere I read Paul saying he doesn´t smoke and take drugs anymore, because (among other reasons) it does no good for his voice. I think Paul really does care a lot for his music so I tend to believe this. And that would include weed as well IMO. |

 | It´s so funny, Harper got caught smoking weed and only a few messages further everyone is talking about Paul..... is he a joint smoker or not???
I don´t think so, he gave it up in the early days, but I read in the latest German biography that Paul started smoking again during the Capeman, because of all the stress he was into that time.
But now he does yoga, so I think he stopped again with smoking.

 | BTW I think Paul smoked cigarettes during The Capeman period, not joints. |

 | Old news perhaps, but in the picture on the front of the "Old Friends " box set, Paul appears to be holding a cigarette but it has been airbrushed out. Has anyone seen the original? IMO its silly to remove it as it was right for the time. |

 | OK, here is the translation, BTW it would be a nice opportunity for you Mickey to learn German;-) what better challenge than a book about Paul!!
It was after the trial, Paul wasn´t satisfied at all with the performance. He had a meeting with Mark Morris and Barry Alterman. Paul wanted another director which became Morris and Walcott as co-director for the last 2 weeks before the workshop. He became lots of critics, they said he was a controllfreak.
In the meantime Paul became so depressed that he was thinking about closing the whole thing (which he mentioned to no one), he couldn´t sleep at night, started to smoke again and didn´t had any idea how to solve the problems.
I hope the translation is good enough.
