Back to the album. I just recently purchased the "70´s" albums so am only getting to know the rarer songs. The more famous songs on this I do like particularly Duncan. the others I´m not so sure. Run That Body Down is cute, shows at some stage he had a loving marriage with Peggy. The rest I could take or leave them. I certainly wouldn´t place the album in the same league as H&B but I´ll wait till we get there before I say anymore.

I have to agree with Micky. It is impossible for me to put Paul´s albums on a list from 1 to 10. I also like each album for different reasons.
Paul Simon is such a great album, as the breakup freed him up to explore whatever he wanted to. I can´t imagine many of these songs getting the Simon & Garfunkel treatment.
I also like the humor that Paul keeps injecting in his work. The characterization of Duncan is hilarious (it sounds like him singing Paranoia Blues, which I think is a hilarious song).
But it is Congratulations that struck a chord with me. Originally my least favorite song on the album, it became my favorite Paul Simon song until Tenderness came along, and since then, I his songs have grown on me so much that I would shudder at the thought of being forced to put a top 10 together.
