Hello all. This is a strange request, but it may appeal to the romantics amongst you.

My best friend has a habit of going out with girls from Paul Simon / S&G songs.

In the past few years he has seen an Emily (for Emily, Wherever I may find her), a Bernadette (Bernadette), a Lorraine (Darling Lorraine), and then the last one was, at long last and unbelievably, a Kathy. I was probably more heartbroken than him when they broke up just because of the Paul-related connection!

Anyway, now he´s met a Rachel. I don´t want the sequence to end because as each new girl arrives, and I prove to my friend that there is a Paul Simon song about her, he gets more into Paul´s music!

I don´t think there is a Rachel in any of the songs though. Does anybody know any different?

If not, I might have to steer him towards some other girls, and I´m still trying to patch things up with his Kathy!

Well, I get thinking now (what I really should not do sometimes), is Cecilia a special person in Paul´s life or does he just liked the name (in The Coast he sings about church St. Cecilia)

Hum... good question, actually. I have no clue.
But anyway, there´s always -as has been pointed out- a Cecilia, a Dolores, a Rosie, an Edie (though she´s not in a song, of course) and if you´re not picky there should be a Penny, and let´s not forget Mrs. Robinson. ;) At the moment I can´t think of any more; what about Art´s Gayle or Laurie Bird? That should give your friend a few more options, Ricky, and hope you can patch things up with his Kathy - or get him together with an Edie! :P

And there is a Marion, and a Thelma (don´t know the song or from which album, saw in on the PS site)
And does (St) Judy count?
It sounds like your friend has some women to go.
BTW What was Mrs Robinsons first name??

Don´t forget Bella...Another important lady in Paul´s life.

And it is Lulu, who I feel was named after his Dad Louis or Lou as he´d probably been known as.

Sadly I don´t think there has ever been a Michelle, Micky or Elise in there :-( I shall now go and sulk and write to Pauyl with a few ideas...lol
